KP Duty Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Really disappointed to see TW has changed their website format again. I always snickered at the other fishing websites that wouldn't let you survey all the rod models, and instead wanted you to 'pick a rod length'...then pick rod power, etc. Like Bass Pro does. Now TW is this way. I fricken HATE it. This eradicates shopping for a rod model that catches your eye 5
Peacedivision Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Not a huge fan of the redesign so far, but I will say rod specs are actually easier to see on mobile now. Previously it was impossible to see specs for out of stock rods on mobile, now the full spec table is shown for all models within a family on desktop and mobile. Just have to scroll down to see it. 1
TheSwearingAngler Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 I’m happy you pointed out the new site, I logged in last night and thought I was having a medical emergency trying to navigate it. 1 6
DaubsNU1 Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 I was building an order yesterday....and all of the sudden, the web site looked different (must have caught me right in middle of the change). Got my order placed. It's going to take a while to adjust.

I see now where you can scroll down and see all the models. Still don't like it. Selecting a rod was easier before you needed to fill out a form to select your rod. 1

One quick fix they could implement would be to make the model numbers in the spec table clickable to add a specific rod to cart. But I agree the old desktop layout was better. 1
GoneFishingLTN Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 I like the new one honestly looks clean much better pics also 1

Super User king fisher Posted October 4, 2023 Super User Posted October 4, 2023 It doesn't matter to me. As long as the Bait Monkey is allowed on the site, I will find a way to navigate it. 4 2
Super User NorthernBasser Posted October 4, 2023 Super User Posted October 4, 2023 Posted this in the sale thread before I saw this. The desk top version of TW was always way better than the mobile version. I also am not liking the new site. Why mess with something that was already so good and everybody already knew how to navigate with their eyes closed? And now when you click on a rod, let's say, you have to scroll way down to see the specs of the rod, etc. It wasn't that way before. Looks so much worse now. 1
tim_kovar Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 I lost all my saved wish lists on top of it all too. 1
Pat Brown Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Yeah it's super super bad. Literally nothing was wrong with the way it was before. Oh well. 2

I had like 3 different lists. It was my way of reminding me of baits I wanna get at some point. *Edit- I still have my wish lists. You have to scroll waaay down now to find them tho when before it was near the top of the page. Lol.

Lol. They must have fixed it because when I clicked on the wish lists button before I got nothing and they are there now.
Functional Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 its a few more clicks for me to navigate but I'll adjust. What is unforgiveable is when you click the shop by brand and they list IS NOT IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER!!! I dont get enraged very easily but this is a waste of my d**n time and LAZY. What is it one or 2 lines of code to get it in order? 2

If you click "shop brands" on the home page before clicking on the type of bait, those are all in order. But if you click on "jigs" or "spinnerbaits" etc, by brand, those are all scrambled. Yikes. 1

Super User webertime Posted October 4, 2023 Super User Posted October 4, 2023 I work on car dealers websites for a living. So much wrong with this new site. Too much white on white and black on black (buttons). Listed names of manufacturers (click rods and then casting) the text is too small and hard to read when you get to the list of all the companies. I shouldn't have to adjust my browser zoom for one website. Wishlist image on left is too small for the space and just makes browsing your list take more swipes. All the colors and images up top then nothing but black and white below. Remove some of the images up top or spruce up the bottom. (This is all for mobile). 1
Super User NorthernBasser Posted October 5, 2023 Super User Posted October 5, 2023 You used to be able to click on certain rods like Dobyns and St. Croix and it'd tell you what techniques each model was made for. They got rid of that, too. The more I browse around the site the more I hate it. Now you have to click more often to find certain info. You have to scroll more because they made pictures etc bigger, so there's less info on the screen at one time. Nobody cares how pretty a site looks. At least not a site where you order stuff from. Customers want ease of use and accessibility. TW dropped the ball, big time. Hopefully they'll get enough feedback and correct things. Most of my TW browsing is done from a desktop FYI.
RW Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 I don’t like the new site. Stinks on an iPad. Too much scrolling. Pics are too big. Searching by brand categories is broke. I sent an email to them voicing my displeasure. If enough people complain, maybe they will fix or bring back the old. 1
badfish79 Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Does anyone know where to find the used section? It used to be on the clearance page, but I am not seeing it anywhere.
Super User Cgolf Posted October 5, 2023 Super User Posted October 5, 2023 My biggest issue with it is that say if you choose Strike king under shop brands, they would have the baits listed by different categories, like lipless, jerkbaits, topwater, flipping baits, creatures, etc. This was super useful when searching for baits. Now you get one baits category and they seem to have no order to them and it is all the plastics, crankbaits, etc under that one heading. So it does appear that they have at least for now put them back into an order that makes sense, but they are still all listed as baits. I only checked the SK brand.
