Tom Bass Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Well, I jammed up my Diawa spinning reel for the last time yesterday. It wasn't making the grade anyway. I was thinking about a Pfleuger President UL reel. It feels real nice and the price is right. Anyone here try these reels out? They seem well worth the money. Tom Quote
castaway Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Instant message Dodgeguy.I know he is a big pflueger fan, but if my memory serves , it is the Pflueger medalist spinning reels he prefers over the president. The medalist has aluminum frame and side plates where the president doesn't have.I hope this helps, :)Ivan Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted November 12, 2006 Super User Posted November 12, 2006 true as can be.i would never buy a graphite frame reel.get a medalist or the new supreme magnesium frame (you should not let salt get on magnesium frames) when it comes out. http://www.pfluegerfishing.com/products/products.php?p=9 Quote
Tom Bass Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 Thank you Gentlemen. I went ahead and bought the President to match up with a BPS ultra light rod that I had the Daiwa on. I got the 6725 series versus the 6720. The 20 seemed more nimble but Bass Pro was out so I went with the slightly larger size. I'll try it out this week on bream and small bass. 8-) Quote
toothdoc Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 I've got one in the 6725 size teamed up with a St. Croix Premier 6'6" L rod. Makes a nice combo. Quote
