A Yamamoto Pro (don't remember his name) said he would fish the 6" or 8" grub on a 1oz football head and 'just reel it as fast as I can'. He said it would produce a vapor trail of silt and ricochet off rocks/laydowns.  This was before 8+ speed reels, but you get the idea.  The Yamamoto 6" grub was my 'worm' for several years before they discontinued it.

Grinding a lipless crankbait along rocks can be money. I supposed it plays into the same ideas as a swinghead. However, you’re going to snag if you have wood on the bottom. In that case, I would use a squarebill or just swim a swim jig along the bottom.

A Carolina rig with 3/4 to 1 oz weight will cover deep water quickly.

This is how it’s done!
