I'm thinking about picking up a H action casting Expride B , the rod comes in a 7ft and 7'2ft. The specs on TW seem exactly the same other then length. Is there and advantage to one over the other, I plan on  using it for 1 oz jigs in heavier cover. I'm leaning towards the 7ft because I'm in a jonboat and wont need to cast very far. Any input is appreciated.

People who have both rods can provide the opinion you are looking for, but if you do not get that, I would lean towards the 7’2” for a 1oz jig because a 1oz jig offers a fish a lot of leverage to throw the hook and a longer rod should offer a bit more control over the fish.

I have and love my exprides, but haven't ever tried any of the H/F.  I doubt you could go wrong with either.  I use the 7'3xh for that purpose, love the mod/fast action for heavy jigs in cover, hook up/land ratio is tremendous.  Also super versatile with frogs, texas rigged swimbaits, heavy swimjigs.  Might be worth considering.

I have the 7'3 XH moderate action, I love it, but it's too much rod for a 3/4 or 1oz in my opinion.  I use it for 1 oz or 1 1/4 oz jigs with bulky trailers.  It's the reason I want to pick up a H action.

Nice!  I don't disagree with your assessment either.  1oz is either steez power pitch or expride xh depending on how thick the weeds are.  My guess for your situation would be to lean toward the 7' model.  When comparing the same powers in different lengths, I would think the tip would allow for more control in heavy cover because when it pops free there's less tip flex in the shorter model to move the bait away from the "snag."

I'm torn, these two rods seem identical except one is 2 inches longer. I'm hoping someone gives me some insight that pushes me in one direction over the other, last night I was all about the 7'2 , now I'm thinking the 7 may give me more control. I am going to get one of them, either way I can't imagine I'm going to be at a loss whichever I pick.

I just ordered the 7ft H model(The monkey said the Omnia deal is too good to pass up) I figure since I have the 7'3XH, my thought process is to go with something not too similar. Thanks for the input everyone.

Updated review on that model? ALF just put a killer sale on one that I couldn’t pass up…
