Super User LrgmouthShad Posted September 30, 2023 Super User Posted September 30, 2023 Hey y'all, I really enjoyed the "Share Your Favorite Spinnerbaits" thread I recently made This is the "Share Your Favorite Jigs" thread Let's see if @Catt is willing to share this time, or not ? I elected to share my own favorites this time Let's begin on the farthest left column. These are all Oldham jigs. They have been recent favorites of mine because of the head, hook, and weedguard design. They work very well in grass and wood and fair good in rock. The Trailer Hitch jigs are priced at $3.75 and the Eye-Max jigs are priced at $4.75. Both jigs have excellent hooks and feature a screw lock keeper, but the Trailer Hitch jig has simply the best jig hook I've seen. It's fantastic. There's a reason I am starting with these jigs first. Let's move on Next column to the right are Coda Lures Apex All-Purpose Jigs. These are priced at a hefty $6.95. The hook is only second to Oldham's Trailer Hitch jigs. It is an Owner Jungle hook. The skirts are hand tied and flare out a lot. The head features a recessed line tie and a do-it-all pitching head design. These work very well in wood and rock and fair good in grass too. Good jigs if you are willing to spend the coin Next over are the Strike King Bitsy Flip jigs. $2.39 and mean as heck. I love these little jigs. The keeper is hot garbage and good luck keeping the skirts together, but the hook, head, and weedguard design is fantastic and these little jigs crush bass, and big ones Up next are the E-Factor Pitching Jigs. I found these in Missouri and they both have aftermarket skirts on them. Online they are priced at $3.69 but I don't recall getting them that cheap. Weird. These are great jigs. Very similar hook to the Trailer Hitch jigs and the head is probably the most universal I have found and they will stand up on the bottom Then we have Siebert's. These are 1/4oz living rubber, arkie style, wire-tied. Uh I don't really want to talk more about these so let's move on. It's Siebert's. It's gonna be good. $4.75 Then on the bottom are four 1/4oz dock-rocker jigs from Siebert's. I cut the skirts in a puffball fashion. These were very good for skipping docks on Badin lake in NC in clear water in the summer. Sneaky little jigs. $4.50 Okay y'all that's my write-up. What is yours? Again, we like pictures 4 Quote
Pat Brown Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 I'm a jig addict and I have caught big bass on all manner of type and price point of jig but the ones that I keep coming back to: Siebert Shot Caller swim jigs: just fantastic skirt and weight options and I love the hook. Caught many giant bass with these. Siebert Dredge Brush jig: my favorite all around jig out there. I like the living rubber ones and I use the 1/4 and 3/4 oz the most! Siebert G2 football jig: when I'm really working rock exclusively and dragging this is my go to. Barely ever hangs up and catches hawgs. I basically only use the 3/4 oz. Bizz Baits Skip n Flip Jig: North Carolina made horizontal line tie arkey style. My favorite jigs for wood. Great hooks on these and some neat skirt options. Dirty Jigs Luke Clausen compact pitching jig: fantastic compact pitching style jig with a really nice smaller lighter wire hook and horizontal line tie. My favorite finesse jig for wood. Strike King Bitsy Flip: the king of cheap compact jigs. Caught my first giant jig bass on one of these and I've had a jig tied on ever since. Strike King DB Structure Jig: my favorite over the counter heavier/bigger hook jig. Love Denny and I love this jig. 1 1 Quote
garroyo130 Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Agree with Siebert and Bitsys up above. I'll also add Jimmy Ds River Bugs - Spring Bear for hair 1 1 Quote
river-rat Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 I have been using Oldham’s Trailer Hitch and Eye Max jigs for many years and will testify they are a first rate product. 2 Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 30, 2023 Super User Posted September 30, 2023 Look at the hook eye in relationship to the hook point, it almost like a Texas Rig, straight in line. The head is wider than it is tall so it doesn't fall over when sitting on the bottom. Terry Oldham's Eye Max or Trailer Hitch Hackney's Flourcarbon Jig Seibert's Supreme Grass Jig 3 Quote

Super User J Francho Posted September 30, 2023 Super User Posted September 30, 2023 I fish mostly Siebert jigs but keep a few Buckeye Mop jigs around for good measure. 3 Quote

Super User casts_by_fly Posted October 2, 2023 Super User Posted October 2, 2023 The Siebert Dredge brush jig is my favorite pitching jig. Even through we don't have that much brush around here i still prefer it for docks, pitching to grass, and as an all around jig. The hook is outstanding- thinner wire but I have yet to bend one. Supremely sharp. As a swimming jig, I like the siebert mini swim jig for the more pointy head. I also like the dirty jigs swim jig and the strike king tour editions for the same reason. The strike king was my first good swim jig, but they only go up to a 3/8 oz and that's about as light as I fish. Vibrating jig? Siebert tremor without hesitation. 1 Quote
softwateronly Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 There's lots of great ones mentioned. This tightrope fireworks jig is a great lakes killer. Smallie candy that gets through the underwater debris field. scott 3 Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted October 3, 2023 Super User Posted October 3, 2023 Football jigs, it’s Dobyns Xtreme For everything else, Sieberts gets the nod but the 6th Sense Devine SJ is pretty darn good too. All in all if you can’t get it from Mike’s business your in trouble. 2 Quote
txchaser Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 New jig that will probably end up as a long term favorite: Engage waterbull jigs. Has the twin guards, and I have a limited supply of the *** jigs left (thanks Tom). Swim Jig: Evergreen's swim jig. It's the jackhammer of swim jigs. Very well built, color matched to jackhammers, and a medium-ish hook instead of the monster hook on most swimjigs. It's premium priced but it's not a bait I lose much. Backup is the picasso. Mexico Jigs: Seibert makes some big heavy jigs for mexico that are great. I think it's the dredge. 1 Quote

Functional Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Siebert Supreme Arky Siebert Mini Jig SK Bitsy Bug 6th Sense Divine swim jig I had been using dirty jigs swim jigs but I have a horrible time with the bait slipping down the hook. 6th sense fixed that but otherwise the dirty jig was a nice jig, caught a lot of fish on them. 2 Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 5, 2023 Super User Posted October 5, 2023 Now if y'all wanna talk swim jigs none beats Santone Lures Chris McCall Rayburn Swim Jig. 2 Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted October 5, 2023 Super User Posted October 5, 2023 The Trashmaster jig is the most weedless jig I've ever fished. It has a screwlock for the trailer and once rigged it's as weedless as a T-rig. It's not cheap if you aren't a Karl's member. But then I've had two for a couple of years, so they last. https://shopkarls.com/p/gamechanger-lures-trashmaster-jig That said, I usually just use a T-rigged craw or beaver with a superline EWG hook and the weight pegged. 2 Quote
Scott804 Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Keitech Football Beast Coast 3/4 Football War Eagle Heavy Finesse (This is my main jig, if I could only have one it would be this one.) Missile Baits Finesse swim jig (New one to my roster, fantastic with the mini D trailer, a tidal water favorite for me) Megabass Uoze Swimmer (Caught my PB on this one... that little blade makes the difference for me sometimes I feel like, especially when they've been beat up on a spinnerbait. Fits great with the 4" spark shad) Quote
