I could be off here but…….. I think they should have cleaned the rust out of them. I’ve seen people restore 50-60 year old cast iron that sat out in the yard but they had to “over clean” it for a few

yours is an inch larger than mine... that size just seems really convenient.  that's my favorite pan, but i'm single.  for groups --- i guess you reach for 'big iron'.... lol.
