4" Yamamoto Kreature alternative?

I have been catching fish with them but they do not last. They are only good for about 2 fish. They even fly off the hook. I even tried a Centering Pin Spring. Does anyone make something close to that but that will last longer?

Respectfully, if you are only getting a couple of fish or actually casting off the bait, you have something wrong with your rigging or setup.

I use a 3/0 heavy wire EWG hook. What do you suggest?

It’s no different from a Senko when rigging and I have posted in depth rigging mistakes that make people think they are more fragile than they really are.  Search my Senko posts and you’ll run across my tips for line, hooks, rigging, etc.  the only thing that is different with the kreature is that you use a weight or a football head jig.

that is a neat bait, and i regret knowing they exists.. they look AWESOME.  lots going on.  

 

i would use a straight shank hook with a bait keeper tab.  just me.

Let's be fair, these are Yamamoto baits. If there anything like senkos then 2 fish is better than (my) average.

Thank you. I already see some mistakes I have made. Like using a heavy wire hook. I have never made sure my hook was wet before I put on any Yamamoto bait. If you have to do that much because it is so delicate maybe I will use another brand. I will read up some more and make some changes and see.

That's kinda how my mind works too.

 

If you have to jump through that many hoops just to get something to work efficiently...that's a shortfall of the materials or design. I really like my Japanese baits. But they are indeed fragile.

It doesn’t make it anymore catch effective.  It makes it more cost effective.  I know guys who could care less about the cost as long as they catch fish…..and they do.  Better than others is always a debate and one I don’t participate in.

I have never used the Kreature, but if you want it weighted, it looks like this rig I use for the 5" Hula Grub might work -- that's a 1/4oz Fin-Tech Title shot jig:

 

I get 5 or more fish per body pretty regularly with this.

I do care about the cost and thank you for the recommendations.
