Looking at a new spinning setup and need help or pictures of the difference between a 3000 and 4000 size sahara or ultegra for bass..or just shimano in general sizing vs daiwa

I prefer 2500 or 3000 size reels for bass fishing.

It's all about line capacity for me.

More is better.

The two reels on the right are 3000 Diawa Tatula SS.

Rest are 2500 (white) & 3000 size Shimano.

The only reason I can think of using a size 4000 spinning reel for bass fishing is Mono/copoly/FC line diameter over .010 diameter. Larger diameter spool accommodates larger diameter line. Keep in mind the IPT also increases with spool diameter.

Have a nasci 4000 on a tfo heavy spinning rod..but seems a Little big for a mh spinning rod ..are the 3000 same size body just bigger spools?

Sometimes 2500 / 3000 reels are the same size and weight, but the 3000 has a Deeper spool.

I use 2500s almost all the time.  I do have several 4000s that I’ve used up to .013 diameter line on.  I caught my PB on a 4000 skipping a dock with .013 line.

I don't think I have ever used a spinning reel over the 2500 size for bass.  My dad used to have some larger spinning reels but they were for catfishing.

2500 for me. Our old Shimano Rep taught me that a 2500 sized Shimano is a 3000 spool on a 2000 frame.

I use a larger size reel because they typically have more line pickup.

It matters to me when I'm casting up river and want to burn it back with the current.

I prefer 2500 or 3000.

2000 too small for me, and 4000 too large...

I when with a 4000 series Vanford on my victory 7.10 hair jig rod.  It was suggested to me the heavier 4000 reel would balance out the extra long rod.  It seems okay to me.  All my other spinning reels are 2500s
