Top Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 You fellas play waaaaaaaay out of my price range..... I hear you there SPEEDBEAD some of these rigs make me gasp too but I quit smoking a year ago.... I bought my MG50 a week before my one year anniversary of quitting smoking... if I was still smoking there is NO WAY I would be able to afford 500 bucks for a rig... its a matter of priorities Yes I have some nice rigs but I didn't buy them all at once... one here and one there... I have been very blessed to be able to compile a collection of equipment over this last year... now I am at a point to where I don't HAVE to get something for a technique.. now its a matter of the baitmonkey whispering in my ear... but having said that... its AWSOME to see what other folks thing their two rigs are or would be... I am pleased to see I am not far off on my decision to get what I have... AL Quote
jayhawkfishin Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 If you could only have two rods and reels for the rest of you life you are going to want something you enjoy and will last. I don't own what i said, but if I had to sell all my stuff I would take that money and buy those rods and reels. If i had to fish with only two rods and two reels i want the best two rods and the two best reels. imo. Quote

Super User ww2farmer Posted November 8, 2006 Super User Posted November 8, 2006 Stopping at 2 combos for me would be like ...............well I dunno I just can't do it BUT if I had to just take two of my rigs with me ( which I have done on occasion) I would take: Spinning: 7' M BPS Extreme w/pflueger president spooled with green 8lb trilene XL Casting: 7' MH BPS Extreme w/ Diawa procaster spooled with 20lb spiderwire stealth braid Lures: Zoom super fluke in babybass 4" yum dinger watermelon/red flake 1/4 oz booyah green pumpkin jig w/green pumpkin yum craw bug trailer 7" red shad culprit worm, w 1/8 bullet sinker Zoom bubblegum trick worm. Plus a pack of gamakatsu 3/0 EWG hooks. I do use cranks, spinnerbaits, topwaters, and jerkbaits alot too, but these baits produce year round for me, so thats what I would take. Quote
