Hey y’all,

I am not really a clean freak. Far from it. But if there’s one thing I cannot stand being dirty, it’s my truck. I do not allow it to go more than two weeks without being cleaned, and I’m thinking about moving that to weekly. I just thoroughly appreciate having a clean, good smelling vehicle. Is there anything in your life that you must have clean?

My boat, truck and house.  I wash my boat after every trip.  I wet vac the carpet monthly.  My truck gets washed and waxed at least weekly.  My wife does the inside of the house.

Not really, but I have an aversion to rust on guns and knives. I don't particularly have to have clean guns, but I keep them oiled. Knives have to be oiled and sharp.

I keep our home reasonably clean. Like the OP, I can't stand having my truck dirty, although it's white, and doesn't show dirt like say a black color would. It also ticks me off when I get water spots on the windows. Use Rainx but the spots still seem to stick t6o the glass..

Guns, truck windshield, and depth finder screen must be clean, my glasses, everything else will be all right. Between the cow pasture, hunting club, and parking under trees at the lake, there's literally no way I can possibly keep my truck clean, but it's perfectly serviced.

House, garage, dog kennel, boat, vehicle, mowers as well as any & all associated

Lawn & snow removal equipment.

If I can touch it, I can clean it.

With the exception of the underside of my truck, I do.

Along with that, if I can dismantle something (within reason) I clean that too.

So my version of 'clean' is full send.

Regardless of my somewhat relentless efforts,

dog hair will forever be a condiment in our home.

I keep my house, boat, and both vehicles relatively clean.  The dog gets a bath when she needs it.

My wife is a little better at cleaning inside the house when we do a "deep" clean.  I wipe my hull, seats, and outboard down with Boat Bling products after every outing.  Just last week I did a deep clean on the trailer too with the pressure washer.

I think a fair amount of people clean the outside of their car frequently here, but they don't clean the inside very often.  Some of the interiors of the vehicles I see of my family members and friends are borderline disgusting.  Coated with dust, dirt, fingerprints, etc.

I own a ‘65 GTO National show winner that I’ve had for 32 yrs.

It never goes out in the rain or even the threat of rain.
I keep it covered in the garage.
It hasn’t had soap and water on it since I had it restored as I use a specific wipe and dry product to keep dust, pollution etc off the paint.

Is it excessive? Of course

Do most people understand it? Nope

But I don’t care, she’s worth more now than my first house! ?

@A-Jay, my wife says her favorite color is dog hair. We’re down to two dogs but there’s still plenty of dog hair to go around.

To the OP, we have a pass at the local CarWash, $15/month unlimited washes and vacuums so the Blazer goes almost daily especially in the winter, my trucks gets maybe 200 miles/month so that gets washed once a week. My wife is OCD (in a good way). The house gets vacuumed at least twice a day, floors moped once a day, and she “deep cleans” Saturday and Sunday. My boat gets cleaned/vacuumed every other month.

That’s pretty good! Nice

I went the manual route, decided on that early after moving to TX. I own a shopvac and hose system and stuff for washing the car so I do everything by hand.

The best solution I have found for cleaning the interior of the truck, aside from vacuuming, is a mixture of dish soap and water applied using a scrubber. Particularly because my interior is leather. It is easy on the leather and seems to clean most surfaces well

I am pretty anal on my truck but right now we are having water restrictions and no vehicle washing is allowed.  Luckily I did a good hand wash before they enacted the restrictions and I use a cover in between washings.  I will never take my vehicle to an automated car wash.  It makes my stomach cramp just thinking about it.?  As a trial, we got one of those robot vacuums and it’s downright amazing.  My daughter who has 3 dogs got a top of the line one that schedules its cleaning cycle and dumps its own bin.  She said it’s been life changing. ?

i keep my vehicles clean.  insides more than the exterior.  i lead a fairly adventurous existence that puts me on a dirt road quite often.  it would be stupid of me to keep washing my exterior.  i vacum and wipe the interior all the time.  no trash, no spills.

i even keep my work vehilce the same way.  i have asthma and sucking in dust and silica from a construction site is no bueno.

house is GREAT compared to my friends with kids.  we even hired a house keeper and i want to hug her everytime she shows up.  but i dont want to make it weird.  :D

I used to be anal about a clean truck, inside and out, same for the car. As my age has gone up the need to clean them has gone down. I’ve gone from roughly twice a week to when it needs it, maybe every 2 weeks. I also am down to about 3k miles a year compared to 20k. Compound, polish, and wax once a year, same as when I was younger.

I’ve dropped washing the cars in the winter, by hand I mean. Used to be I could wash them down to or just below freezing, even bought diving gloves so I could, now I use the car wash down the road once a week, unless we get snow and they sand the roads, then I join the line.

That's ridiculously cheap.  I pay $30/month and I thought that was very reasonable.  Mine also gets me discounts on gas too.  A nice single wash is 12-15 bucks these days anyways so 30/month with unlimited washes and gas discounts is pretty good.

I like to keep my truck decent looking. I use it as a truck. I have a dog. He is in the truck 2-3 times a week. I vacuum out the hair weekly but, there will always be lots of hair in it.

I clean my suburban when the passenger has to kick the trash over to get his/her feet in , whether it needs it or not.

I’m joking

It gets trashed on fishing trips on Friday and Saturday, so I clean it out every Sunday.

My truck is a work truck. Landscaping, construction, other bullcrap. My car wash bill would make me homeless if I tried to keep my truck clean. I’m kinda a neat freak, but I gave up on the truck.

I hear ya! We keep the house as clean as we can and the dogs (mostly) off the furniture, but with them getting to spend a lot of time with us in the house most days the hair they leave behind builds right back up incredibly fast. My wife found this sign and it hangs at the entry of our front porch...

?        Lets see…  I washed my suv once this year…so it is relatively clean now.

My excuse is that it has 282,000 miles on it.

^ My truck gets a 'bath' every time it rains...at 22 years and 250,000 miles it's not a great priority.
