Why do YOU fish for bass with 65+pound braid?

Why not 50# braid? Your leader would still break first, and you'd get better casting performance and line capacity. I'm playing devil's advocate but I'm curious because I'm looking at a similar scenario for my own setup(s).

I've never fished with anything over 50#.  The only time I use that is when I am punching through mats.

Because I'm fishing for 60 pound bass???  No, I've never used braid that heavy.

I get better casting performance and fewer backlashes with 65# (Tranx 300). Also the diameters match up (.016) and I get better connection knots.

Because 80 is too stiff and I have broken 50 before.
