bassbassontherange Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Ordered one and should be receiving an XG later today. Going to primarily use it for plastics, Texas and wacky. Thinking 10 or 12lb Sniper FC. Likely pairing with a MH rod, but I haven't decided if I'm going to get a new one or stick with one that I have. Anyone have experience with the new Met? It's been hard to find a review. Rod recommendations? Quote
jejenkyns Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 I have one. My experience with it has been very positive. What would you like to know? Quote
bassbassontherange Posted September 8, 2023 Author Posted September 8, 2023 How are you using it? What do you have it paired with? Do you have a feeling for how it compares to the 20,16,or 13 Mets? Quote
Super User GetFishorDieTryin Posted September 8, 2023 Super User Posted September 8, 2023 If there anything like the 2020 Mets, which I cant imagine they wont be, you're going to love it. Quote

Do you have a feeling for how it compares to the 20,16,or 13 Mets? It mostly lives on my Steez 7'0" MMH but I slap it on other rods at times. Mostly light bottom contact but some moving bait applications as well. It's the only met I've ever used but with regards to the 20 Met, my understanding is that the main differences between the difference iterations is the spool capacity. There may be some other minor things, such as the length of the handles on the JDM vs USDM etc. but the main thing is the spool depth (and price!). I wouldn't be surprised if there was some performance difference between the different spools, likely because of differences of weight but I still think they are essentially the same reel, certainly the same family.
