Need experienced advice, want to mount 2 Garmins on mounting blocks.  Where should they be placed?

Advice appreciated.

I'm gonna assume my answer may not apply to your boat as transoms vary from boat to boat and the fact that larger engines create more turbulence.

But here we go.

My transom is 90" wide with a 60hp Merc.

The center of transducer mounting blocks are exactly 17" from center of transom and 1 1/2" above bottom of hull.

My boat hull transom is stepped, I’m being extra careful about placing the mount blocks,

using 5200. No holes.

Maybe you can post a photo of the transom area you are considering the mounts.  That would be helpful.

Take it to your dealer and the TD’s professionally installed, saves a lot of time and head aches.

What was the verdict here?

I am trying to install a Garmin GT54 on the back of my 2017 Z17 and haven't found much information about the best spot. And where it will still provide enough clearance to run sides sidescan. I've seen some mount just below the rear tie down hooks, but one says only 9ft of side scan and the other says trim motor up.   Any better ideas?
