T2DM Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 I'm looking at the 20 JDM Twin power C3000XG, can someone please confirm if this size comes with cross carbon drag? Thanks in advance. 1 Quote

T2DM Posted November 1, 2023 Author Posted November 1, 2023 I was about to pull the trigger on this reel at Digitaka but then I discovered that the drag washer PN RD9908 is felt not carbon, now I'm really confused. Plus this Dude confirmed it at 6:15 Quote
garroyo130 Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Looks like it might be felt; however, the design is a bit different from what you typically see. In either case, it shouldn't be a deal breaker as its a cheap "upgrade". Video below is 2500 w/felt. 1 Quote
Super User bulldog1935 Posted November 1, 2023 Super User Posted November 1, 2023 all small frame Shimano reels have fiber drag washer - it's plenty of drag on the rods that you match small frame - it's also a glass + resin reinforced cloth that's a lot tougher than simple felt. Shimano medium and large frame reels have carbon drag washers. '20 Twin Power C3000XG schematic 1 Quote
Cody28 Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Is there any reason not to buy the JDM Twin Power over the US? I’m looking at a deal right now for a U.S. Twin Power for 355, but the JDM is still cheaper at 290 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted November 25, 2023 Super User Posted November 25, 2023 Only bad part - no warranty if you go JDM. Quote

Super User MN Fisher Posted November 25, 2023 Super User Posted November 25, 2023 Same as most of the other brands - 1 year on reels. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 “Felt” for lack of a better term, drags work but Carbontex is for sure a legit upgrade. It doesn’t affect max drag to a high degree, but it is smooth, consistent and durable. Quote
Alex from GA Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Smooth Drag probably has washers or can cut you some. I bought a sheet of carbon fiber drag material and cut anything I want. 2 Quote
