Started this morning with a first cast 12" LM; hate that.  Fished for an hour or so and caught an 11" Alabama.  Dropped a jig in a blowdown and had a good, 3lb or so LM come up and off.  Came in at noon.  5 hours is a long day for me.  Not too hot just windy.  Tried things I normally don't.

Beats the heck out of a 10-12 hour skunking in a 40 or 50 something degree rain. Been there done that several times.

Catching fish and enjoying a day on the water sounds like a big win to me.

The giants come and go, but the time out there in nature is the best part.

Thanks for the reminder, @Pat Brown.

I didn't go today.  I ran out of voltaren a few days ago.  My shoulder isn't up for casting today.   The lake would be full of holiday weekend boaters today anyway.

Hey, thanks for recommending that stuff. It's works great on the tendinitis in my elbows. Fast, pretty long lasting relief.

I should have labeled it "Terrible Catching Day".  Any day fishing is a good day, that's why I fish several times a week while I'm still able.

I know the feeling though...often when I feel like it should be a better catching day and I come up light it does hurt.

There's times where I feel like we should have a skunk/fail/tough day support thread or something, I think it helps a lot of us to be able to vent after snapping off three tungstens and only catching invasive milfoil LOL

Today would be a good support thread day - I drove an hour, immediately dropped my phone and shattered the screen when I pulled up, and then skunked. Here's to the $300 I don't have that they want to fix my phone ??

I haven’t skunked this week, so there’s that, but I share in your pain. Our AC in the house went out Monday night, then the alternator in my truck dropped yesterday. It’s only Thursday and I’m already down $900 for the week ???

Tuesday was a pretty good day for me, it made up for Friday.  6 Alabama bass and 2 LM with the biggest a 3.75 Alabama.  Mostly docks and blowdowns with a worm for bait.  This morning I caught 3 and a big LM jumped and spit the worm in my face.

The one bite I had at texoma this morning did a similar thing. The noxious fumes of skunk are disrupting my humours, causing plague and malaise
