I just checked weather at my lake. 20 deg cooler Saturday!

Nooo!  I kinda had the pattern figured out.  My guess is they may go shallow, and ride the tule edges.  
 

I might need to bring a sweater.  Our weather is kooky.   Normally, I’d look for grass, but the locals herbicided everything.   Just brown wisps of grass. 
 

I heard they chew when it cools due to the increased oxygen, but I’m just a regular joe-fisherman.

I'm not sure what to expect for my next trip either. Weather has been changing and right now the winds are all crazy, coming from atypical directions. I do think the recent rain will help but if the fish ain't used to these conditions, not sure how going to react yet.

It will be post frontal blue bird skys here but that doesn't stop me from fishing.  I won't be able to go Saturday morning like I usually do.  I've got an appointment for an eye exam at 10:30, then later I'm having supper with my Dad and Sister.   My plan is to go Saturday night around midnight.   The lake I fish will be crazy with wake boats and jet skis during the day this weekend anyway.

In my humble opinion, cold fronts in the fall are one of the best things that happens to bass fishing all year long.  Your mileage may vary.

 

This is about the time I start flipping visible cover again and for me that's about as fun as bass fishing gets.

No signs of fall here in the north.  In fact, a heatwave is set to arrive.  Approaching near-record temps for September on Sunday and Monday.  Looks like I'll be bunkered in my basement for the end of summer holiday.

That’s a good point for his scenario. Us, on the other hand, our low temperatures have fallen by 10 degrees and high temperatures by a few or several for some time. The fish are going to notice

That's exactly what occurred here the past couple weeks.  Fishing was lousy in late July through early August because of multiple-day heatwaves.  Water temps were 80+ degrees, which is very warm for here.

 

Then some cooler weather arrived, along with some rain.  Water temps dropped back down into the mid 70's and the fishing was good again.

 

Of course, now its warming up, so I expect it to be pizz poor for about a week.  A stiff breeze or low cloud deck can help if you are out there in the morning before it gets too hot.

I think change makes them active somewhere and the trick is knowing where they bite when it gets hot and where they bite when it gets cooler.  This can be applied to day to day shifts in weather caused by rain and cold fronts or very hot, still weather.

 

Somebody always shows up to the lake and gets excited about the conditions because it's somebody's strong suit.   I'm always trying to get stronger at fishing every scenario that the seasons present etc.

I went twice this week because of cooler temps , bright skies , north wind. Pitching Dingers into wood and slaying numbers but not size . Caught a four lber yesterday , my largest . The front of the jon boat was littered with torn up Dingers. Went through at least fifty in two trips.

I'm going tomorrow, hoping to see some activity around visible cover because that's what I like to fish. I'm horrible at hot weather fishing, trying to learn from @Pat Brown and other posting about that but summer is a hot skunk for me more than not. Good point about certain weather always being someone's strong suite. I've got to work on my summer fishing. 

 

This weekend is a fall fakeout. Classic NC weather, back to mid-90s next week I think. Ugh.

The hot 6” Trash Fish Hitch bite has slowed down but it’s still very good bass fishing at Clear Lake.

Late summer has kicked my butt, it feels like 3 weeks since I've been able to pull a decent fish off structure or cover in the daytime.  Fast, slow, big, and little, from the top to the bottom have all played a part in me not getting quality bites.  I've turned to spooning, under spinning, and tail spinning for the pelagic fish out in no man's land, and have put some decent fish in the boat, but armed with only a flasher and technique inexperience my learning curve feels steep.   The main takeaways have been; I now know what a roaming honeyhole looks like on a flasher, a ben parker mini mag spoon will get bit by any size bass, and nighttime with a swim jig is still my favorite.
