Legal here in IL - I have so much fun fishing and being relaxed while doing it, I see no need for it. Plus the cost is prohibitive. For those that do partake, I do not care if you blaze. Do not burn a hole in my boat carpet and good luck with that reaction time setting the hook!

Big believer for weed for medical purposes, all about people not being in pain.

Legal here in Missouri. Seems like it will cause problems down the road for folks. I don't partake. Just like booze, whenever you put the word " legal" in front of any mind altering substance people go nuts with it. I don't want it around when I'm fishing.

Not legal in Texas . Even if it was, the thought of cottonmouth on a 106 degree day is a real bummer dude.

I live in state where it is legal and when it became legal, dispensaries popped up seemingly overnight. I Won’t try it and have no desire to, and I REALLY HATE HOW IT SMELLS. Period. I’m normally a calm, carefree kind of guy, but the slightest unwilling inhalation of the smell of weed wafting through the air on account of some stoner smoking it  really ticks me off.

On the musician side of me, I never ever want to lose any motor skills when playing so I won’t smoke it (anyway) or drink alcohol. I also agree it doesn’t necessarily make you play better and if my band mates were stoned, I have witnessed a marked decline in their skills/playing such that I won’t play or jam for a real set let alone practice. I have observed that their creativity in writing did seem boosted amid the hunger and the paranoia, lol. Not me. Not ever. Natural human endorphins like adrenaline are way better than the most potent drugs out there without the I’ll effects.

I remember when Pot was first cool. It was around the late 60s or early 70s. We sat around listening to Cheech and Chong records.  Dark Side of the Moon was a favorite. Every party had a back room for the stoners. When something is illegal, it's exciting.  When it's not, it loses much of it's appeal.  I think there may be less Pot smoking today than back then.

I don’t know if it’s legal in Florida but I do know the hallways of the school I’m at can be mistaken for a George Clinton concert back in ‘74…less fights until roughly 10:30ish when it starts to wear off

i no for me fishing high would be an unmitigated disaster.  it sounds like no one here fishes with a spliff fired up either.  it'd be interesting to hear from someone who does, tho.....

Just a little toke helps me with slower presentations. Big toke has me buggin at every noise and losing concentration. Moderation is important. Wish I would have figured that out when I was younger.

Is nobody worried about what the effects are to your throat and lungs? Remember when in high school the rumor was that paraquat was sprayed on the plants.

When you’ve been to over a hundred overdose deaths your perspective gets skewed I guess.

Man that PNW Kush must be significantly different than Alabama Super Skunk....it just makes people here listen to Widespread Panic, and mumble something about 2 for 3 grillcheeses ?

When I was younger, I could do it while soaking bait, but I would be afraid to now.  Treble hooks are too scary.

I rarely partake in booze or weed these days, but when I did, I always performed like garbage no matter the activity. I don't know how people take substances and have a good time trying to concentrate on what they're doing.

My pot stock gained 82% today. That's what matters to me.

It is legal in Oklahoma for medical use.  You see a doctor...get the referral...and then you get your cannabis patient card.  I am allowed to have 6 mature plants and 6 seedlings growing at any time.  I grow 3 plants a year outdoor, and yield 1.5-2lbs per plant.  Cannabis is no different than alcohol or junk food....moderation is key.

Here is one of my plants (super lemon haze) about halfway done flowering.

actually, weed's popularity goes waaaay further back than the 60's.

as much as i love benny goodman's other stuff,  my favorite weed song is far more recent

not a single  one of those overdoses were from weed. it's a well published medical fact:

in order to die from weed, you have to smoke 1500 lbs in an hour.  i suspect smoke inhalation would take you out well before you could accomplish such a feat.

as for considering  weed to be a gateway drug, that's been debunked for quite a long time.  in fact, the demonization and stigma of weed is linked to more hard drug use than weed itself.  for example, the thought that if they were lying about how dangerous weed is, maybe  (insert random other drug here) isn't as bad as they say also...

i don't mean any of this to endorse getting high.  as i said earlier, i barely smoke it at all anymore, don't use other drugs, and  the only drinking i do is a few cups of warm sake a couple times/year.  i only posted for context.

Where did I state any overdose death was a direct result from cannabis?  Read my statement. My experience in dealing with drug overdose deaths has skewed my views about cannabis.  To be more specific, in addition to the drug overdose deaths I personally had to deal with, there are another 800 plus overdoses where the person was saved from life saving efforts, many of them mine.  The overdose drugs were not cannabis.  However...... every single one of those people, every one, all of them began their drug use with cannabis.  One guy nicknamed Griz overdosed two days in a row.  I’ve seen addicts inject bleach water, vinegar, peroxide and other liquids into their friends to try and reverse the overdose.  I pulled a thirteen year old girl from a bath tub filled with ice who overdosed.  Yeah the hard drug they used was an opiate but they all started with marijuana.  My view is mine.
