Cedar Key is seven miles down a tiny road in the middle of nowhere.  It's a fun day trip for tourists and it does have some decent fishing.  No one builds on Cedar Key without being fully aware of what's going to happen. It's only been a few years since it was flooded the last time.   While that is not any consolation for those who do, it's not downtown Tampa.
