Considering getting one but I don't know anything about them. In the past few years I've gotten into whiskey and out of beer, and I figured when I'm going to a social function like a BBQ at a buddies house I'd rather bring a small amount in a flask than tote a bottle around. For those of you that own flasks, any recommendations?

I don’t like a flask. I have one and have used it. If I want alcohol on the go I just use a yeti mug or similar. For what you’re describing, I just take the bottle. There are a couple guys in the neighborhood and we all do it. We end up with bottles at each others houses. We have an open bar policy so just pour what you want. Never know what you’re going to find any given night.

That's kinda what I'm doing now. My best buddy lives in the next town over and he's the only guy I really drink with. I used to haul bottles back and forth but now I've just bought a budget bottle and left it there...current bottle stashed at his place is Old Forester 86. I kinda just wanted the flask for bringing a small amount of something pricier... Woodford double oaked, barrel seagrass, rare breed etc so he can try them.
