nullbass Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Hi, My son is interested in fishing and I plan on taking him out on the kayak this weekend. Silver lake is the closest finger lake to us and I'm not trying to push the driving distance much farther yet. I was wondering if we will have much luck on Silver Lake fishing for any pan fish? I was thinking of using worms and a bobber with a split shot weight in between. Being that I don't normally fish for pan fish, is there an area on the lake that we should target? I think I can get him hooked if he can catch *something*. Thanks! Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 25, 2023 Super User Posted August 25, 2023 Silver is the forgotten Finger Lake. If you're just targeting sunnies and blue gill, you can keep it real simple and hit the docks on the shore just east of Silver Lake Marine. Launch from the state park. Quote

Hoping he catches a few, I have real worms and dried wax worms to try. Do you think any bass will be around docks this time of year? Weather has been pretty chilly, not sure if they would come up to the docks for warmth? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 25, 2023 Super User Posted August 25, 2023 Some docks always have some bass. Quote
