Super User gim Posted August 24, 2023 Super User Posted August 24, 2023 I like em. Bone in or boneless, buffalo flavored and dipped in ranch or blue cheese. Who makes the best wings near you? There is a bar & grill called Cowboy Jacks a couple miles from my house and their Tuesday night special is a bucket of bone-in wings for 10 bucks. I generally prefer the bone-in versions, as they taste better. The boneless ones have too much breading. But they aren't as messy, so there's that. So how about it. What type and flavor of wings do you like and where do you get them? Quote

Super User Darren. Posted August 24, 2023 Super User Posted August 24, 2023 (edited) Love wings. We have been perfecting airfrying them and using a mix of spices along with Buffalo Wild Wings or Frank's sauce(s). I like 'em mild, others in the fam like spicy. To add more, we season the wings, air fry, then toss 'em in a tupperwear container with the sauce of choice. As for locals, there are a number down here in VA, but to be honest, I love the wings from a local Mexican place here called Cinco de Mayo. They're "traditional" style and really good. Vinnie's is also very good. Have had solid wings from some local breweries and tap-houses, too. Edited August 24, 2023 by Darren. 1 Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted August 24, 2023 Super User Posted August 24, 2023 Best around here are my girlfriends out of the air fryer or mine off the charcoal grill. Sauce of choice is parmesan garlic. Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted August 24, 2023 Super User Posted August 24, 2023 All flats. Either mango habanero or Old Bay and Honey, or simply dusted with Old Bay. The local bar and grill makes good mango habenero wings, but I normally bring a can of Old Bay and/or a jar of honey and order them plain and make them myself. Quote
Super User Scott F Posted August 25, 2023 Super User Posted August 25, 2023 “Boneless” chicken wings are almost never actually wing meat. I used to get wings frequently until the prices jumped up 500% 2 Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted August 25, 2023 Super User Posted August 25, 2023 When I went to my nieces wedding in Portland, Oregon we stayed in a Airbnb that was close to downtown. My daughter drug me out one afternoon and we went walking to a little neighborhood shopping area and there was an open air restaurant where we got lunch. I had some Korean wings that were unmatched by anything I’ve ever had. Not like regular wings at all, but ridiculously delicious. Quote
Super User casts_by_fly Posted August 25, 2023 Super User Posted August 25, 2023 I absolutely love good wings. For the 12 years years we were in the UK we couldn’t get good wings. It’s not a thing there. When we came home at Christmas we’d go to a place near my in laws house that has great wings. I’m still looking for something comparable here in jersey. Probably the best traditional wings around are at a bar and grill out in the sticks. They had a honey habanero sauce that was great but the wings themselves were done perfectly. I like a sticky sweet hot sauce on mine, thought smoky bbq is another good choice. Quote
throttleplate Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 I like my wings fresh off the farm. 1 Quote

Texas Flood Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Ever since my favorite wing place closed, I started to smoke and deep fry them at home. Through on some Japanese bbq sauce and they are good to go. Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted August 25, 2023 Global Moderator Posted August 25, 2023 South coast pizza makes great smoked wings and I can walk there from home Quote

Super User clayton86 Posted August 27, 2023 Super User Posted August 27, 2023 I love me some wings I used to be able to put down a good number of em. Favorite are probably DUFFS in Buffalo then probably Anchor Bar. There was a place by me growing up a town over that was awesome they breaded them with cornflakes and grape jelly I guess. Mr Ed’s it was called then it switched to Poneys when the owners changed. When I was in college Hooters was doing an all you can eat wings during March madness I did 66 in one siting. Quaker steak and lube used to do all you can eat also but wasn’t a competition like the hooters thing was so never really pushed myself or kept track of how many. Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted August 28, 2023 Super User Posted August 28, 2023 I love wings but they’re just so expensive now I rarely eat out for them anymore. The Dick’s wings near me was good when I did go… Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 28, 2023 Super User Posted August 28, 2023 Bar Bill has made its way here, and they can do horrible things to themselves. No more lefts on the dugout. @clayton86 will understand this. Quote
Super User gim Posted August 28, 2023 Author Super User Posted August 28, 2023 Back in college on Thursday’s there was a bar called Superstars that has $1 tap beers and 15 cent wings. We went almost every Thursday my sophomore year. Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted August 29, 2023 Super User Posted August 29, 2023 Bar I used to wash dishes at when I was a kid ruined chicken wings for me. The wings there were so good, some big and juicy and the homemade sauces were unreal. Now when I have wings from somewhere else they never do it for me anymore. Quote
