Curious what hook you use for standard 5" Senko/Stick Bait?

I have been using a 3/0 Offset EWG, but often I prefer a 4" worm and the 3/0 Offset seems a bit overkill. I like the look of the Offset Round Bend Worm Hook, but not sure how good it hooks the fish.

So what do you folks use?

Thanks.

For a 4" Senko I use a 2/0 EWG hook.  For 5" and up I use a 3/0 EWG hook.

I've been using a 3.0 Gammy offset with a Dinger. I stick it on the opposite side of the slit and stop when I barely feel it sticking through . I've been hooking  them pretty good that way.

I have thought about dropping down to a 2/0 EWG for 4" Senko.

5” Senko gets a 3/0 hook.

A regular EWG is good, but a Twistlok helps the Senko last much longer.

I use a vmc 2/0 ewg.  My partner uses a 1/0.  I use it on a head instead of Trigged.

I always prefer straight shank hook to offset.  I feel the position of the hook point allows for a better hookset.  The drawback to straight shanks, are that they can go through baits quick.  I found that the hybrid style offset hooks offer some of the advantages of straight shanks while minimizing the damage to the head of the bait.  You can get some that have an open point like a straight shank or you can get some that sit flat like a traditional offset EWG, it all depends what you want.  I like Decoys Dream Hook for light spinning gear or BKKs Basilisk for M and MH casting gear.

a garden variety Gama O'Shaughnesey in a 3/0 is also VERY good with a senko rigged weedless.

i like how it is narrow and allows the bait to slip in easier.

4/0 VMC flippin hook. Not the HD, the lighter wire ones. Snelled on 20# or 30# braid.

If bass are not getting the 4" or 5" Senko good , I go up one size in the EWG style hook .

I found that over the years, my clients were gut hooking too many on a thin wire Gamakatsu 3.0 ewg, so I stepped up to a  thin wire 4.0 ewg.  Bonus is that it also is perfect for rigging most all other Yamamoto plastics like a DShad.

I'm always refining my Texas rigging . Its never ending . Thats the hook I'm using now. I put some bobber stops on the shaft and slipped them up to the bend. Supposedly that will hold the worm in position not allowing it to slide down . Havent tried it yet but rigged up.

Yamamoto worked with Owner to make the CPS Light hook for the senko. I've never bent one out, although I've never drug a monster out of grass on it either. There's an identical but thicker version too, if that's your deal. Both fit the 5" senko thickness perfectly for a skin-hook. And the senkos last a really long time unless an airborne dink shakes it off.

The only complaints I can find about the hook: 1) if you are in heavy cover it's probably not the right hook. 2) if you are dragging it through algae the head of the hook will pick some up.
