J Francho, you should Google an old song by Buck Owens, called "Bucks Polka". It was one of his instrumentel songs from the 60s. My dad used to like it. Buck plays some nice guitar, on a sparkle finish Fender.

Look for the duet by Tommy Emmanuel on u tube, pretty cool.

Add to that on tv on saturdays the only tv in the house was tuned into the Porter Wagoneer show, Buck Owens, Lawarance Welk and Hee Haw, at least Hee Haw had some woman in it with sexy shorts and tops, that was a blessing.

Many members may not know that Junior Samples of Hee Haw fame was a serious bass fishermen. I fished an Okeechobee Tournament that he entered back in the 70s.  He didn't like to talk about himself or the show.  At the time he seemed somewhat embarrassed about his fame.

I'm not sure but I seem to remember a prank he pulled by trying to claim he had caught a world record bass. Seems he ate it and all he had to show was the head which turned out to be a grouper.

Listening to Count Basie and the KC 7, 1962. "Shoe Shine Boy" is sublime.

For boogie-woogie, I prefer my 'home town girls'

Ya - they grew up in the town I live in.

"The Andrews Sisters, LaVerne, Maxene, and Patty, grew up in Mound, Minnesota.  They spent all of their summers here from 1917 through 1931, living in a house that today would be at 2506 Commerce Blvd."

No rap, no bro country. I'm good with about everything else. It just depends on my mood. Last week I happened across 40's junction on XM. Now I get where my grandpa was coming from. Some good stuff from that era. My work day starts out listening to Pastor Jack Hibbs on my ride to my first well, then I'll bounce between Dwight Yoakam's channel, Willie's roadhouse, outlaw country, 50's gold, 60's gold, classic rewind, classic vinyl, Ozzy's boneyard....
