Super User LrgmouthShad Posted August 21, 2023 Super User Posted August 21, 2023 Hey y’all, Just walked into a tackle store and saw they had some Havoc baits. I know they are discontinued, so of course I had to get something. They have a bait called the devil’s spear. I picked up two packs. Can anyone tell me about this bait and how they’ve had luck with it? The design looked really cool. 1 Quote
Super User T-Billy Posted August 21, 2023 Super User Posted August 21, 2023 I had to go look it up. I'd never heard of it. Looks like a great bait for pitching deep grass on a flippin rig. I bet it has a great glide with a pegged 3/8 or 1/2oz. 2 Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted August 21, 2023 Author Super User Posted August 21, 2023 Oh by the way, they had a Falcon Expert Head Turner too so of course I had to get one. That’s my second one. I got to inspect the rod before purchasing. Can’t say no to that. Quote
Super User webertime Posted August 21, 2023 Super User Posted August 21, 2023 Take a razor and split the tail then mount sideways on a chatterbait. 3 Quote
Pat Brown Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 Looks like it would be great as a flipping jig trailer or on a punch rig or a bubba/power shot or a Biffle head. Wicked cool! I love the old Havoc baits. I buy a pack any time I find one I don't have back stocked from ages ago at local tackle stores. 1 Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted August 27, 2023 Author Super User Posted August 27, 2023 I got the wild idea to put it on a swing head with the tail split like y’all suggested. I did not get anything on it, but only a shaky head worked yesterday so I ain’t judging it yet. Kinda just dragged it by what looked like a large school of bass offshore but I coulda been mistaken. They were so tight to the bottom that you could barely make out the arches on 2D and they came up as nice pop-up dots on side scan. To be continued 1 Quote
