What braid would you recommend for this set up?  I'm thinking 20 lb. Power Pro Super Slick 8 V2 or Suffix 832?  The rod/reel will be used in a lake where I could catch a bass or a muskie.

Jig & Worm Rod assume you are using bottom contact lures like jigs and worms. With that in mind a sinking braid like YGK would be a good choice.

I would go with FC, something around 16lb, especially if you are around toothy critters.  I fish in two lakes that are filled with sauger and walleye.  Braid does not fare well at either lake.

If you feel you must do braid, I would go with 40-50lb. If you go with a thinner PE line, I would definitely go 50lb or heavier. Also check the diameter to make sure it suits your needs.

In 832 and a baitcaster I like 30 lb. It’s so thin as it is that there’s no real difference between 20 and 30 in handling but the 50%more breaking strength gives you options if you’re in thicker pads or grass.

I'd go with 30lb 832

I do like 20lb 832 on my 2 power Loomis casting rods though.
