Pretty straight forward... Whose your favorite? But to spice it up lets do two: favorite director still active and favorite whose no longer active. For me:

No longer active: Alfred Hitchcock.

Active: Toss up between Tarantino and Scorcese.

Dazed and Confused may be the most rewatchable movie ever IMO

@throtteplate  So, you like to get a laugh out of the movies you watch. Cheesy special effects, terrible over-acting, props that fall over during a scene and are left in the movie, and the whole movie made for about $1.89? His movies are so bad they are almost good. If nothing else, I have to admire his determination to make movies no matter what.

I am shocked no one mentioned Sam Peckinpah in the no longer active group. (Deceased)

@throttleplate Ed Wood, that's good. Loved to dress in women's clothing. Had a serious obsession with angora. Even used the stage name Ann Gora. There is a movie about his life. I like odd movies so it was pretty good.

Favorite Directors? Now you are speaking my language. I don't watch much TV, but I am a movie junky. Some that have not been mentioned but are some of my favorite:

John Woo

Coen brothers

Both Tony and Ridley Scott

David Fincher

Solid choices no doubt. Big Lebowski and No Country for old men are d**n near perfect. Fight club was my favorite movie until I was about 25. Oh and Zodiac is extremely underrated in my opinion.

Tarantino

Paul Thomas Anderson

David Fincher

Coen Bros

Denis Villeneuve

Christopher Nolan

So many more I’m missing.
