Super User DitchPanda Posted August 11, 2023 Super User Posted August 11, 2023 Pretty straight forward... Whose your favorite? But to spice it up lets do two: favorite director still active and favorite whose no longer active. For me: No longer active: Alfred Hitchcock. Active: Toss up between Tarantino and Scorcese. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted August 11, 2023 Global Moderator Posted August 11, 2023 Scorsese and Ford I guess. Mike Quote

Kirtley Howe Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 @throtteplate So, you like to get a laugh out of the movies you watch. Cheesy special effects, terrible over-acting, props that fall over during a scene and are left in the movie, and the whole movie made for about $1.89? His movies are so bad they are almost good. If nothing else, I have to admire his determination to make movies no matter what. 1 Quote
Skunkmaster-k Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 Mel Brooks and that guy that has lots of explosions in his movies… what’shisface. Quote
Kirtley Howe Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 I am shocked no one mentioned Sam Peckinpah in the no longer active group. (Deceased) Quote

Bass Junke Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 @throttleplate Ed Wood, that's good. Loved to dress in women's clothing. Had a serious obsession with angora. Even used the stage name Ann Gora. There is a movie about his life. I like odd movies so it was pretty good. Favorite Directors? Now you are speaking my language. I don't watch much TV, but I am a movie junky. Some that have not been mentioned but are some of my favorite: John Woo Coen brothers Both Tony and Ridley Scott David Fincher 1 Quote

Big Lebowski and No Country for old men are d**n near perfect. Fight club was my favorite movie until I was about 25. Oh and Zodiac is extremely underrated in my opinion. Quote
Texas Flood Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 Tarantino Paul Thomas Anderson David Fincher Coen Bros Denis Villeneuve Christopher Nolan So many more I’m missing. 1 Quote
