What’s the general consensus on alternatives to traditional neds, particularly craw profiles with flapping arms like the Rage Ned or chigger?

Mushroom Ned jig works or a Ball head and drop shot or slip shot rig.

TRD Bugz are lights out, ice out until ice over. I've caught everything from bluegills to muskie on them.

100% Underrated lure

So far this year these have caught; SM, LM, walleye, channel cat. flathead cat, bluegill, and a rainbow trout.

There's some study I read somewhere that said plain-ol' small stickbaits out perform all the meme Ned craws and creatures that have came out recently.

Which I guess makes sense that a finicky bass would be more willing to attack something that can't pinch it.

This hasn't been my experience. The TRD bug has out ptoduced the TRD stick every time I've fished them both.

I fish smallies primarily and use TRDs alot.

Ive tried everything under the sun, craws, leaches, you name it and nothing catches fish like a good ole regular ned.
