Skeeloco Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 All I'm really asking for are 6" jerkbaits! They barely exist! My setup allows me to simultaneously fish for bass, walleye and esox but I'm missing out on the esox because my baits just aren't big enough. Husky jerk is closest I can get to 6", but I really can't stand em because they have no weight transfer system and cast like crap. Husky jerk magnum is 6.25" but it's made for trolling. Lucky Craft has some 158s, but these fools know that they have the market corned and are charging $30 a piece for their garbage baits. I mean cmon, there's plenty of huge bass swimbaits out there, why not jerks?! Quote
Pat Brown Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Berkley hit stick comes in a big version and megabass Kanata if you're feeling fancy! Big jerk bait season is definitely coming and I'm excited! Quote

Ktho Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Ever consider a saltwater jerkbait like a Daiwa SP minnow or Shimano Exsence? There's plenty more but larger baits just most commonly get marketed as saltwater baits. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted August 4, 2023 Super User Posted August 4, 2023 Yep LC pointer 128 weighs 1oz and has a big profile. LC pointer 127 weighs 7/8 oz with a slimmer profile. Jackall Rerange 130 has the weight forward snap transfer for long casts. 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted August 4, 2023 Super User Posted August 4, 2023 LC also recently came out with a pointer 158. It's huge. Mexican bass like it just fine. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lucky_Craft_Pointer_Minnow_158mm_Jerkbaits/descpage-LCPT158.html A-Jay 1 Quote

Phelptwan Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Search for Musky jerkbaits. There's a lot out there. They are exhausting to fish though. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted August 5, 2023 Super User Posted August 5, 2023 Megabass Kanata in Mat Shad. There is just something special about this one and it's worth it. A couple of others to look for..... the Lucky Crafts mentioned above. And the Daiwa Salt Pro Minnow. The bass don't know it's for salt water. I had one and it caught fish but it got destroyed by a sauger. Quote
softwateronly Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 I'm in the same boat at times and looking for other options as well. If you can and want to go up to a 2+oz bait, I fish this like a big jerk bait and it does work. scott https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Ima_Glide_Fluke_Glide_Bait/descpage-IGFG.html#customer_reviews Quote
