throttleplate Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Would you like to see your favorite NFL football team win the super bowl or rather see your favorite baseball team win the World Series? I as a life long Greenbay Packer fan from the Bart Starr days watching them on tv and for baseball a life long Baltimore Orioles fan from the days of Brooks Robinson watching them on saturday afternoon baseball, I would have to choose to see the Orioles win the world series. I was stationed in Adak Alaska in 1983 listening to the world series between them and the Phillies on the Armed Forces radio network. It has been so long since 1983, 40 years that i wonder if i will ever see them even participate in another series. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted July 28, 2023 BassResource.com Administrator Posted July 28, 2023 Crud, that's tough choice, but I'd have to say the Superbowl. But only if the halftime show is Kenny Chesney. 2 Quote
Super User Mobasser Posted July 28, 2023 Super User Posted July 28, 2023 I'll say the Super Bowl. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted July 28, 2023 Super User Posted July 28, 2023 Super bowl for sure as I don’t follow baseball. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted July 28, 2023 Global Moderator Posted July 28, 2023 Super Bowl! Baseball doesn’t even come to mind anymore. The Cubs won in my lifetime, that’s good enough for me Mike 2 Quote
Super User Tennessee Boy Posted July 28, 2023 Super User Posted July 28, 2023 I didn’t realize they still played the World Series. ? 3 1 Quote
Super User FryDog62 Posted July 28, 2023 Super User Posted July 28, 2023 I took a knee on the NFL years ago and you couldn’t pay me to watch a game now. Played baseball through junior college and still enjoy the game a lot. Put me down for a World Series win ? 3 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted July 28, 2023 Super User Posted July 28, 2023 Only 'Pro-Sports' I'm interested in is the FIFA World Cup (Woman's USA is 1-0-1 so far) Rest of it can just go away....so to answer the original question Neither 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted July 28, 2023 Global Moderator Posted July 28, 2023 Cubs/bengals fan here. Before 2016 I would have said World Series but now it’s Super Bowl. Got close two years ago 2 Quote

Captain Phil Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Definitely Super Bowl. I don't watch baseball. It's so slow and boring. The only game I know of where it's good if nothing happens. 1 Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted July 28, 2023 Super User Posted July 28, 2023 Well since the Cleveland Indians lost their rightful name & their b-lls & became the Guardians I lost my interest in baseball. So I'll vote for the Super Bowl. 3 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted July 28, 2023 Global Moderator Posted July 28, 2023 I’m seeking higher ground if the browns are in the Super Bowl 1 2 Quote
NavyToad Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 The Ravens have won 2 Super Bowls since the Orioles last won a World Series. I’d take the O’s in the World Series hands down. Redemption for long suffering Orioles fans. Now if the Colts were still in Baltimore…….. @throttleplate Are you an Airedale? 2 Quote

Our motto is “We Build, We Fight.” At the start of WW2 my Dad joined the Army’s counterpart. At that time I believe they were called Combat Engineers, at least that’s what they called themselves. He never talked about it much other than to say he did see “a little combat” in the Aleutians and So. Pacific Mike 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 29, 2023 Super User Posted July 29, 2023 Neither ? Once they turn Pro I quit watching 2 Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted July 29, 2023 Super User Posted July 29, 2023 Haven watched either in years. Growing up I was all baseball all the time. As an adult I got way more into football. Don't really care about either now. 1 Quote
Super User GreenPig Posted July 29, 2023 Super User Posted July 29, 2023 Neither. Don't watch any pro ball sports. 1 Quote

I called my brother and asked if he remembered where Dad said he was stationed. He remembered him saying something about Adak and Kiska but nothing else. This was in ‘42 I know he was there to build runways before being moved to the Mariana Islands where they built more for the first arrival of B 29’s. I remember him saying the islands weren’t secured when they arrived. Thanks for jogging our memories! ? Mike 1 1 Quote
Super User Bird Posted July 29, 2023 Super User Posted July 29, 2023 Gotta admit, only time I watch TV is when a ball game is on, avid sports fan. Years ago I would have said baseball " big Red machine". Wife's sister lived in Cincinnati and every time we would visit I'd go to a Reds game. Actually caught a Hal Morris HR sitting in center field. I watch both but would rather see the Superbowl...... always turn off the halftime show and back on in the 3rd. ? 1 Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted July 29, 2023 Super User Posted July 29, 2023 My round ball team has won a few Larry O’Brien’s recently with potential to win another or two in the next few years. My baseball team has been run into the ground by the ownership with the blessing of the Commissioner’s Office and leaving for Las Vegas soon. So I gotta say Super Bowl and another Lombardi Trophy! 1 Quote
