BassBlowup354 Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 What rod would you use to throw a Texas rig with a weight between 3-16 to 5-16 oz? Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted July 27, 2023 Super User Posted July 27, 2023 Once you put a worm or creature on there, you're gonna be more like 1/2-3/4oz MH/F - the 'Swiss Army Knife' of rods 3 Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted July 27, 2023 Super User Posted July 27, 2023 Oh this is too easy iRod Genesis III Harold’s Lone Star Special. I can do a lot with that rod but most of the time, it throws t rigs with the weights you described I have it paired with a Curado MGL 150 Quote
Cbump Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 I have these that would work: Shimano Expride 72MH 3/8-1oz Megabass Orochi Perfect Pitch 1.2oz Falcon Lowrider Head Turner 6’10” HF 1/4-3/4 Daiwa Rebellion 7’3” MH F 1/4-1oz Dobyns Champion XP 684c HF 10-20 1/4-1oz Shimano Poison Adrena 7’2” HF 7/16-1.5oz Daiwa Tatula Elite Brent Ehrler Finesse AGS 7’ M-MH XF 1/8-1oz Daiwa Tatula 7’3” MHF $73 at midway right now I have more that would work but are a little heavier, like 3/8-2oz. PBBrandon Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 Depends on the situation for me but some form of a MH-H fast rod is the standard. The rods I throw a T-rig on are 7’2” MHF Expride B (main t-rig rod) 6’10” MHF Zodias (skipping, sniping cover) 7’3” HXF Legend Tournament (grass and brush) 7’2” HF BLX (weeds, pitching) Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted July 27, 2023 Super User Posted July 27, 2023 Any MH/F rod that's in your budget and feels good in your hands. I like Kistler rods, myself. Good luck choosing. Quote
BassBlowup354 Posted July 27, 2023 Author Posted July 27, 2023 Narrowed it down on my own time to the 843c MBR vs the 7’2 MH expride. Which would y’all choose between the two? Quote

PBBrandon Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Never used a Loomis but the Expride is an amazing rod. Both are great choices though Quote
Cbump Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 Had the 844 MBR Glx and much prefer the Expride. Quote
