I went on a road trip with my wife and we came across an upscale, and I mean expensive, custom candy shop. I couldn't tell you the name but a box chocolates can cost $100 easy.

So while my wife drained a few dollars from our account,  I found,  sitting on a shelf all by themselves, a box of Reggie Bars. They were $4 each. I remember them being a quarter.  I bought one just for the heck of it. And to my surprise,  it was exactly how I remembered it as a kid. For a few minutes I was 10 years old again.  It couldn't have been a better thing to find. I am not sure I could bring myself to buy another one for $4 but it sure brought back some good memories.

What have you guys found that takes you back to being a kid?

As far as candy goes, my mother had a drawer in the kitchen with candy and I was allowed periodic dives into it.  Some of my favorites were Sugar Babies, Milk Duds, Slo Pokes, Bubble Yum in the long ropes, salted nut rolls, tennis size jawbreakers, but from my fondest memories was my grandfather who always had a box of Brachs chocolate stars and a bag of Circus Peanuts orange foam peanut shaped candy.

Bubble tape and big league chew.  I had one or the other for every little league baseball game I played in.

Every once in a while I'll see it at the store.  Only now I think "not a chance."

Sky Bar.  And one I wish they would bring back is the ORIGINAL Three Musketeers bar. Not the one you can buy now, but the original one with three layers of stuff inside.

The ones I used to be able to eat without gaining weight....seriously though, dark chocolate Kit Kats.

When I was knee-high to a grasshopper,

I made myself violently ill a few times down these things . . .

And I was All About collecting those 'points'.

Growing up in Indiana,  we had a Hostess Factory here and there was an outlet just down the street from my house (both old and current). They were great and i probably have eaten more than my fair share of them but like a lot of things, they aren't the same now. They are kind of nasty.

They were so popular when I was a kid, we use to call fanny packs "Twinkie Pouches" because that's were we would keep our stash of junk food. Our school served lunch at 10:30a. and we would usually not get home until 5pm. It seemed we were always hungry.

@Catt I thought I as the only person that new what those are and ate them, imo the best candy bar ever mde. @Darth-Baiter I bought a box of boo berry last week, thoroughly enjoying it.  As for childhood  memories candy cigs and bubble gum cigars. And no i never smoked.

Missed this one.

Those things bring back another funny memory.... I had an old boss that would give us either a Zero or a Payday bar on payday with our check.  If you did well, you got the Payday bar. If you messed up that week, you got the Zero.

Over the course of a few years, I learned to like Zeros. I did ask my boss one day why he gave them out. He responded by saying "Because those things taste like regret".  I still eat them to this day.

Chicko sticks, sweetarts, and long red spaghetti licorice which we would let hang out of our mouths while chewing.

My great grand father smoked and chewed tobacco his entire life.  He was a farmer and I don't ever remember seeing him without a plug of chewing tobacco in his mouth.  His handlebar mustache was permanently stained.  He lived to be 93, which was downright amazing.   I grew up with a bunch of country boys. They all chewed and dipped.   Mostly Beech-nut.  One day out fishing, I asked my buddy if I could try it.  He handed me a fist full and I stuck it in my mouth.  I swallowed the tobacco and got deathly sick. This cured me forever.  All my friends that dipped when we were kids lost their teeth.  One got bone cancer.  I am not an anti tobacco crusader.   I'm just reporting what happened.  The biggest problem I could see is no girl or woman is going to get close to a man that chews tobacco.  That was a problem I couldn't deal with.

Bit of an oxymoron there, you wouldn’t exist if a woman didn’t get close to your great grandfather

Hot Tamales. They’re what I pulled my first tooth filling with. It was on Christmas Day, and I was weirded out when my Hot Tamales suddenly got crunchy.

One of my favourites as a kid. I still have one on occasion. We got them at a small drugstore in Chillicothe Mo. The guy kept them refrigerated and cold.

God I loved that stuff, Red Man too. Very happy I quit however,  it's a dirty habit.

@Mobasser We put Zero Bars in the freezer. Great summertime snack!

@Catt I used to munch on NECCO Wafers up until they stopped making them. Old-timey wax paper wrapper. I segregated then by color/flavor and ate them in order of least to best-liked flavors. Always ended with black/licorice or orange/orange.

Still keep a bag of these on hand in my candy jar at work
