Ok so I'm in the market for a 7'3" Medium Heavy / Fast Casting Rod. It will be a all around rod where if I needed to take 1 rod with me then it could do the job. But my options are right now are Lews TP1 Black Rod, Doybins Fury, and Duckett Fishing Micro Magic Pro or there Incite Rod. I've heard on the Doybins that if I want a MH I need to get a Heavy and on the Duckett that there guides Break a lot. Any help will do and tell me if you have any experience with these rods. Thanks

I have the MH/F (733C) Dobyns Fury rod, really nice rod. For me compared to my other MH rods the rating is accurate, many talk about the rods being rated higher than what they are, but this one isnt.

I also have a 7' MH/F Lews TP1X rod which is very similar to the TP1, another very good option.

Its a bit stiffer than most of my other rods so i use it for spinnerbaits and football jigs, both rods have been excellent with durability and sensitivity.

Some people have had Dobyns and Lews rods break (any brands rods can break tho) but the nice thing about buying a rod from either one of these companies is a very good warranty, although Dobyns costs more than it use to, but almost everything does these days.

I have the Fury 704C and it compares favorably to my Mojo Bass 7'1' MH/F...I think the Mojo is more sensitive and the Fury a little slower in action, but they're pretty close.

I've seen a lot of people stand by the Fury line of Doybins Rods.

Thanks for the info I'll have to think about the Lew's or Doybin.

I love my Furies, but I am moving away from them for my own reasons.  I have the most fish taken on my 733 to date.

I own the spinning version, but my friend has the casting.  Phenix Max-73H or something.  it is an awesome rod.  same money, kinda ugly if you dont love camo color.  you dudes with camo-bedsheets and couches will love them.  he loaned me the casting once when I buggered up my reel on a hike in fish trip.  he carried two rods, I carried one.  it is pretty fantastic and made me question the Fury.  hahah..

You won’t beat that Daiwa no matter how you slice it. I saw it yesterday and passed on it only because I absolutely do not need another rod. I have several Dobyns and Lews, and a couple Daiwas and like them all - that Daiwa Tatula is a great rod and you won’t regret it.

I believe that in most cases when guides break, it is because they have been abused.  They don't break just from bending the rod.  MOST cases to cover me from the inevitable disagreement.

I'm counting the minutes. Can it go any lower?

Don’t sleep on this rod, especially at this price… I just fished with 7’-4” H/XF today for the first time. Well worth the $40 I paid for it. Actually a really nice rod to throw….

not affiliated, only 13 fishing one I own. Most others at St Croix or Dobyns, but for the price, I had to give it a shot. Glad I did!

I have too many 7’3” M/H rods as it is and I can find a use for the 6’10”. Either way, I’ll never find a better price. This is one of those rare deals.

Can’t decide on the 7ft medium or medium light regular casting. Probably gonna get the medium light to complement my 705cb fury and 7’2” MHM LTB rods. How much off is the sale usually?

I have dobyns 703, 705, 733 and 734. If you want on the lighter side of MHF, go for the 703. If you want to go a little longer, the 733 is great. I also have a few st croix rods, the Power flipping and the max marshal.

What are you fishing with it? If I had the 705, 733 and 734....I could fish pretty much everything minus giant swim baits. 705 would be my crankbait/chatterbait rod, 703/733 is my texas rig rod and the 734 would be my spinnerbait/buzzbait rod.

So it really comes down to what you plan to fish with....but if I had to pick only 1 rod....it would be either the 733 or 734, depending on how heavy of a lure you want to throw.

I think I'm going to go with the Daiwa cause of the price.

The max lure I would want would be 1oz but I'm going with the Daiwa or the 733 and or 734 I'm doing the research as we speak

And is that 1oz with trailer, or before a trailer is added.

Plus, if it's a jig/chatterbait/spinnerbait - that 1oz is just for the head...add the weight of the hook, skirt and blades on the last two....a 1oz spinnerbait will end up being 1&1/4-1&3/8oz before the trailer is put on.

If you're going with 1oz lure - a 735 is minimum...I'd prefer a 736 personally for that.

1oz before everything else and I didn't think of that. Sorry I just got back into fishing so I'm still learning on what has happened in bass fishing

I just checked - 10% lower after code. I lost $9 by ordering yesterday, but there was no guarantee they'd still have them today. No biggee.

Yup. I just checked too. $73.21 for the 7"3" MHF. @Bassinheimer is batty if he doesn't grab it at this price. It's a level up from a Fury, plus it has a jazzy cork handle.

P.S. Here's the code for the discount: JAE072623
