throttleplate Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 A good 10 days ago here in Fargo ND i was outside replacing a power steering belt on my car when a storm came through. A little rain was projected and then this happened, it was coming down in sheets so i grabbed a bunch of blankets, coveralls and a shop coat from the garage and threw it on the car, with the wife helping me and laughing as the nuggets were bouncing off my bald head and yes they hurt. The wind was very strong and drove the hail sideways so i did get a few dimples on the drivers side. Quote

Super User Bird Posted July 24, 2023 Super User Posted July 24, 2023 Yes turn it into you're insurance. Never once have I've experienced hail here in western VA. 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted July 24, 2023 Global Moderator Posted July 24, 2023 Every roof and car in Knoxville got replaced in 2011 due to hail damage, crazy storm they predicted for 4 consecutive days hit on day 5. widespread tornadoes and hail from Louisiana to DC that night, part of Tuscaloosa was flattened. April 27 if memory serves, wild night. I actually just pocketed my insurance money and drove my golf ball looking truck around for years, had to get a salvage title. Every other truck on the road was roofer or insurance for a couple years 2 Quote

Super User Bankbeater Posted July 27, 2023 Super User Posted July 27, 2023 About 20 years ago we experienced a horrific hail storm. St. Louis actually ran out of new windshields because of the amount of damaged vehicles. I was so glad I parked under our big tree that night. I only got a couple of dings. 1 Quote
