Good luck.  My normal rise and shine time for a day of fishing is 3am.  Not fishing this weekend and heading to Wisconsin next weekend for 2 weeks so, I’ll be on the water but not fishing.  It’s a shame but unfortunately the chain of lakes we go to has been ruined by spraying.

Jinxed myself.  Hit a flat in the old truck creeping up the keep trail. Had to unload my kayak and gear to change tie in complete darkness.  Forgot I moved all my EDC stuff to new truck.  DUH!

Did not  want to take a\chance at another flat so I cane home.   Oh well.

Too bad. Our lake finally didn't spray this year and the weeds are looking better than ever. A slight inconvenience when swimming but it wasnt bad at all.

I was up at 3:30 a.m. this morning. So glad I took my headlamp. It used to be that there was enough light at 4:00 a.m. to launch without a flashlight, but no longer.

Getting up at O dark 30 is what bass anglers do.

Flash Light is essential at nigh, don’t leave home without it.

At least you don’t need that sweater now?

Been going to the King Chain (Waupaca) for 25 years.  I used to pull my boat up every year.  Then they sprayed.  Fishing went to crap.  Fish are still there but it’s now a night bite only for the most part.  You can catch a few on rainy/cloudy days but it’s nothing like it used to be.  Definitely not worth a 2 day boat tow, launching at the marina, storing the trailer offsite, stringing power cords at the cottage and letting the boat sit all day just for a few hours at night.  ?

an iPhone is a poor substitute for a flashlight or headlamp.  I felt pretty dumb.  hahaha

I am glad my dad showed me how to change a tire when I was a kid.  stand back, I got this!!

FOR SURE, I am gonna take days off FRIDAY and MONDAY.  I got to shake this jinx off of me.

I got up a midnight:30.  I didn't catch anything until Sunrise.   I guess the bass were sleeping.   I ended up with a hook in my finger.  It was after Sunrise so I can't blame it on darkness.

Decades ago I night fished all the time.   Since I started back fishing (Dec 2021) my night fishing has mostly been going at 4AM or later.

I stayed out dusk to dawn Friday, and caught a bunch of white bass. Saturday I cleaned them and tonight I’m-a-gonna eat em. What fun I have had in the night , frolicking with my green light.
