2 players this weekend tore achilles, a jets d lineman tore his and cousins. Alot of qbs got injured this weekend. I hate that cousins is injured because now the vikes will be in the running for worst record for a high draft pick along with the packers🤢.

I say jefferson gets traded, why because Addison looks really good to date and he is on a rookie contract and as gimaris said jefferson wants a good qb he can win with and will be looking for 25 million a year contract.

Maybe the vikes try to get rodgers from the jets next year, its not unthinkable.

I think most of us are still here @throttleplate. I just can’t stop shaking my head over my teams three-game losing streak, and how the Niners are going to fix things on a bye week. Rodgers, Cousins with Achilles and others with knee injuries derailing their teams seasons. Maybe it’s time for the NFL to set a league wide standard for artificial surfaces or a complete return to grass fields. Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t Allegiant Field in Vegas have both?

Modern day turf isn't as bad as in year's past and depending on what you are measuring, it is the same as grass.  There isn't a question that there are more non contact injuries on turf though.

All that aside, another week and another Eagles win.....unlike the other "top" teams in the league, the Eagles are still finding ways to win even when playing poorly except against the Jets and they still had a shot there too.

Eagles are the most complete team in the league with talent all over the field and whatever is needed week to week to win, they are doing.  The next 5 games will really tell the tale though as it is probably the most difficult stretch for any team in the league.

How do they grow natural grass in Allegiant Stadium (Las ...

They grow and maintain real grass on platforms next to the stadium.
When not in use, the playing field is rolled out of the stadium, where the natural grass is irrigated and soaks up the desert sun. For game days, the field is driven into the stadium, a trip that takes approximately 65 minutes.

And UNLV plays on the artificial turf and the pro football team plays on grass

I think State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ does a similar operation with their field turf.  They put it outside for a few days to soak up desert sun and then roll it in on game day.

While there have definitely been advances in technology of artificial surfaces, I don't think there's any doubt that the majority of NFL players would much rather play on real grass.  Unfortunately its just not an option at every venue.

The nfl really screwed the pooch on that turf during the 57th superbowl, players slipping and complaining and the nfl investigated who was at fault.

Why was the turf so bad at Super Bowl?

The heavy traffic, combined with too much ryegrass, and too much water in the new sod, caused the slipping and sliding we saw in the Super Bowl this year. The players themselves have weighed in on the matter as well.Mar 13, 2023

Rejoice youBills fans, help is on the way. He was our best corner to date and you should like his play.

Veteran cornerback Rasul Douglas is heading to Buffalo.

The Packers have traded Douglas and a fifth-round pick to the Bills for a third-round pick, with the deal finalized just minutes before the NFL trade deadline, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The 28-year-old Douglas originally entered the NFL as a 2017 third-round pick of the Eagles and has also spent time with the Panthers, Raiders, Texans and Cardinals before joining the Packers. Douglas has started all seven games this season.

For the Packers, it’s another reminder that this is a rebuilding season in Green Bay: They’re not going anywhere this year, and they’d rather acquire a higher draft pick than keep a veteran.

For the Bills, Douglas represents depth in the secondary for a team that has Super Bowl aspirations.

I believe you’re right on point @throttleplate regarding the turf during last year’s Super Bowl, but it didn’t affect the outcome as both teams had to deal with it.
Niners picked up Chase Young today, hopefully his addition will help the defensive line pressure the opposing QB which was lacking the past three games.

during last weeks loss to the bengals Purdys head slammed into the the playing surface and he grabbed his head. After being in concussion protocal the week before i and others wonder why he wasnt held out, the concussion guy on the sideline didnt even make an inquest.

From Mike florio:

It’s hard to knock Shanahan for not being more candid than he was, because he was. Despite his reluctance to admit that he would have taken Purdy out of the game if Shanahan had seen the hit, his comments highlight the fact that someone with his or her hand on the proverbial red button failed to press it when it was obvious that Purdy needed to be checked.

And, yes, it’s very possible that none of the various people with the authority to buzz down to the field for a concussion evaluation wanted to be the one to start in motion a process that might have ended with Purdy being diagnosed with a second concussion and the league having a major mess on its hands for letting him play only six days after suffering a first one.

Which speaks to a deeper problem with the NFL’s entire concussion protocol.

I absolutely impacted the teams and your comment says just that by them having to deal with it.  There was some potentially shady stuff as far as the groundskeeper but he was apparently an Eagles fan growing up but has taken care of the Chiefs field for decades so who knows.

I think Chase young is also gonna be a fantastic pick up for the niners.  He won't be the "star" on that team and might get some coaching for once since the only team more dysfunctional than Washington is Dallas.

I listened to this on an earbud in my deer stand today.  The radio announcer made it sound like he was a magician in the second half.  Honestly I kind of got sick of hearing DOBBS lol.  "Dobbs, Dobbs, Dobbs, the dazzling Dobbs!"

Bungles back on track baby! They’ve been playing pretty well ever since I went and saw them get their tails kicked live in Nashville on oct 1 😂

@gimruis, that’s pretty funny. I’ve been hearing the same thing since 2014. Some of my buddies will become crazy mad when they hear the announcers mention he studied aerospace engineering in college, they literally mentioned it 5-6 times every single game when he was at TN and now they do it in the NFL. He even played a short spell with the titans last year and they just couldn’t help themselves

LOL way too early to say or think that.  I would bet against it given the sample size is only 2 games.

Running QBs generally do not hold up long term in the NFL.  Their bodies take too much of a beating, and its a passing league.

Let's go Buffalo! This isn't the 70-20 loss Broncos you're facing,

it's a much better team. And tonight is my first at-home sleep

study, so a win would sure help me sleep better. 🙄
