Super User Choporoz Posted January 16, 2024 Super User Posted January 16, 2024 Didn't seem like the Eagles were a lucky, paper tiger 10-1 team....think 2022 Vikings. Appears the coaches completely lost the locker room. I didn't watch more than an hour or so last night, but I saw no fight, no urgency, especially from the defense. I don't know much about Sirianni, but I think the last few months is a fire-able collapse. 3 Quote
Super User gim Posted January 16, 2024 Super User Posted January 16, 2024 For those of you wondering if the NFL is still the king. 93 of the most watched 100 events on television in 2023 were NFL football games. The other 7 were: NCAA football games (3) Yellowstone (1 episode) Next Level Chef (on right after the Super Bowl) NCIS (1 episode) The Oscars 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted January 16, 2024 Super User Posted January 16, 2024 I really did enjoy the playoff football games the past few days. Didn't care who won or lost because the team I do follow, IS the worst in the league, according they didn't play. However as I watched, I was reminded of recent seasons past and just how spoiled I have been, my goodness. Knowing it will be some time (if ever) that the Pats can produce a winning season, I'll just revel in the good old days a while longer. That TB12 guy was pretty good. A-Jay 2 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted January 16, 2024 Global Moderator Posted January 16, 2024 @A-Jay, it’s an impossible act to follow but your new coach is a former UT (and of course pats) linebacker, he was there the same time we were. One of my buddies had a public speaking class with him “back in our day” 😂 . He was a heck of a player and I think he’s been on the coaching staff a while 1 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted January 16, 2024 Global Moderator Posted January 16, 2024 He was the plan all along. Very unusual that he had it put in the last contract he signed that he would be the next coach whenever Belichick left. Mike 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted January 16, 2024 Global Moderator Posted January 16, 2024 Yes I was surprised that the whole “coach in waiting “ thing panned out this time Quote

Super User gim Posted January 17, 2024 Super User Posted January 17, 2024 Updated odds to win the Super Bowl for the 8 remaining teams. Note the significant gap odds between Lions and Packers/Bucs. Also, this is the first road playoff game for Patrick Mahomes. All of his previous playoff games have been at Arrowhead or a neutral site for the Super Bowl. 49ers 2-1 Ravens 3-1 Bills 5-1 Chiefs 7-1 Lions 9-1 Packers, Bucs 28-1 Texans 30-1 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 18, 2024 Super User Posted January 18, 2024 Are the ravens really that good? I only saw one game and it was a blow out. Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted January 18, 2024 Global Moderator Posted January 18, 2024 @J Francho I’ve seen a couple of their games and I feel they’re the most rounded team in the playoffs. 2 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 18, 2024 Super User Posted January 18, 2024 The game I watched, Jackson basically was unstoppable. Not much passing or defense to speak of. Quote
NavyToad Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 As a Baltimore fan since Johhny U. was playing I’m clearly biased, but they really seem to have a good team this year and are peaking at the right time. Anything can happen, but my money’s on Baltimore. 2 Quote

I don't think they fire him though and I am ok with it but they need to get some experienced coordinators. 1 Quote

I don't think he deserves to be canned either. Three seasons in the playoffs, a trip to the super bowl, a division crown. Even if there was a falloff for 7 games recently. Jason Kelce won't miss being at the bottom of those piles of humanity anymore I'm sure. Quote

He came out and said he hasn't made a decision and didn't say either way intentionally. He even talked about it on his podcast. I think he is a no-brainer first ballot HOFer whenever he decides to hang them up. I'll never forget being at the parade and I was close enough to the podium to see him when he gave his now famous speech. 3 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted January 19, 2024 Global Moderator Posted January 19, 2024 Perception from the outside looking in… The absolute indictment of a head coach is if he loses the locker room, that’s exactly what happened when his players just gave up and quit in a playoff game at that. I don’t care what they do, I have enough to worry about what my Bears future holds, than comment on another teams playing style. But you don’t play the way they did for as long as they did without the coach being held accountable. In some cities that would be enough to be fired regardless of past successes. It wouldn’t be anything new. Mike Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted January 19, 2024 Super User Posted January 19, 2024 Bears have a solid outlook down the road. As far as losing the locker room, I totally agree but we will see what happens in Philly. So much talent on that team and can't even score 20 points is inexcusable but when the OC is calling plays on madden auto play select, what can you expect. 1 Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted January 19, 2024 Super User Posted January 19, 2024 10th time the 49ers and Packers will have met in the playoffs tomorrow evening, definitely looking forward to it. Go Niners! 2 Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted January 19, 2024 Super User Posted January 19, 2024 Pack fans have some 49er game demons to exorcize. Fortunately, the young Pack aren't bearing those same scars. They should be coming in loose and playing like there is nothing to lose. Excited to watch these two young QBs. And while I am done with Joe Barry, I hope the D plays like they're trying to keep him around. Pack fans are such a mess...wanting Barry gone, but loving the newly energized defense...lol 1 Quote

So even getting drowned against the top seed on the road who had a bye, they over achieved as a whole. Whoever the Ravens play next week will provide a stiffer test than Houston did today. Quote
