BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 8, 2024 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 8, 2024 Well before the season I expected the 'Hawks to win 5 or 6 games. They won 9. Meh A season full of average play with occasional flashes of excellence. Entertaining, but not good enough to drive season ticket sales. Sumthin's gotta change. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 8, 2024 Super User Posted January 8, 2024 Seems like the Bills win or lose in spectacular fashion. Quote
Super User gim Posted January 8, 2024 Super User Posted January 8, 2024 Current odds as of this morning for all 14 teams in the playoffs to win the Super Bowl. If I was a betting man, I'd take the Rams. They are a pretty solid team with long shot odds. 49ers 2-1 Ravens 3-1 Bills 6-1 Cowboys 8-1 Chiefs 9-1 Eagles 15-1 Dolphins 16-1 Lions 18-1 Texans, Browns 35-1 Rams 50-1 Bucs 55-1 Packers 90-1 Steelers 150-1 Quote

And that would be worth shooting for because I don't see a wild card coming out of there. Another team that 'pundits' seem to love, that I can't fathom, is the Dolphins. I would not be surprised if Tua is retired by Thanksgiving and the Fins are fighting the Pats to stay out of last in the division. And that, my friends, is why I no longer bet on sports 1 5 Quote

There is no doubt in my mind Collinsworth would have happily given Tom Brady a tongue bath on the 50 yard line. Nothing I despised more than having to listen to him call a Patriots game in which Brady was playing. I’d rather listen to my mom talk to herself than hear Collinsworth’s voice. I’d rather break off 50 PBs at arms length…. ….you get the idea. 1 3 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted January 9, 2024 Super User Posted January 9, 2024 Collinsworth is a pencil necked ******* and has the most punchable face in all of sports.......right behind him is Joe Buck. 2 2 Quote

Super User gim Posted January 9, 2024 Super User Posted January 9, 2024 Geez, you guys really don't like the current crop of announcers or commentators do you. Doesn't really seem fair to compare Buck to Colinsworth though. Buck does the play by play, Colinsworth is an analyst. You'd really have to compare Buck to Tirico or Aikman to Colinsworth. The Buck & Aikman combo is probably the best one out there IMO. I don't care for Romo and I don't care for the Tirico/Colinsworthless combo, so by default I stick with Buck & Aikman. You could always just hit the mute button too lol 2 Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted January 9, 2024 Super User Posted January 9, 2024 I really don't mind any of those guys. And for all the hate that Romo gets, I like him quite a bit. The crew doing the Ravens game the other day on ESPN, however was pretty bad. Orlovsky, Fowler and??? And what was wrong with Pam Oliver the other night? She seemed like she was over medicated or something Quote

Super User Jrob78 Posted January 9, 2024 Super User Posted January 9, 2024 Romo doesn't bother me too much when he stays on topic and is prepared. I just think he and Jim Nance are a terrible pairing. Romo is so goofy and Nance is so serious and professional, it just isn't a good match to me. 1 1 Quote

Super User gim Posted January 13, 2024 Super User Posted January 13, 2024 Looks like the weather may affect the games in Kansas City and in Buffalo this weekend. Air temps in KC at kickoff are expected to be around zero with a wind-chill near -20. Snow likely in Buffalo on Sunday. 2 Quote

Its fine as i use vpn and get it off of free streams. The only reason i am wanting to see this game is because of the weather, the human reaction to the cold and wind makes it interesting. Quote

I probably wasn't going to watch this game, but I am outraged. Peacock doesn't even have a free trial. My bigger concern is that there will be enough people that buy in just for this game that it will be a regular thing, with 5 different games on five different streaming platforms. 4 1 Quote

VolFan Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 That Browns/Texans tilt should be the Cinderella Funderdog Bowl - both those teams are surprisingly competent for completely different reasons at QB. 3 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted January 13, 2024 Global Moderator Posted January 13, 2024 Buffalo is going to pay people $20/hr to help shovel snow starting tonight thru Sunday morning so the game can be played as scheduled. Quote

Steelers v Bills at 1330 PST, Eagles v Bucs at 1700 PST and the NBA’s MLK Day programming with both leagues vying for commercial sponsorship dollars. As for the Peacock deal, it’s just another test run for pay per view sports television. Amazon televised/streamed Thursday Night Football this season. It’s probably just a matter of time before you will have to pay to watch your local team via a streaming service if it doesn’t exist in some markets already. 2 Quote
