I was debating on getting the Supreme and have the President WLPL but if the difference isnt much I dont think I should bother. Does anyone on here own both these? Any noticable difference between the two?

However I dont own one I borrowed one while fishing with a friend for the day and I didnt notice any real difference from my president. I would recommend the pflueger summit if you can find it and if you dont mind the 7:1:1 gear ratio.

my next choice would be a citica or a curado 100D if you are ready to step up into a new price range. You will like the citica if you like Wide spools like your president. It is a low profile reel but it only comes in 200 size which has a wide spool and good line capacity

STAY AWAY!!! I am never buying another Pfleuger again due to the problems I have had with them. The reel is very smooth yes but in less than a weeks use mine started to whine and screech when casting and I can't even force a good accurate 100 foot cast with it now. Go with a Shimano citica or curado.

basspro... thats unusual, I wouldnt steer people away from pfluger though. Their reels are known for quailty and for being long lasting. I have had my president for about 3 months now and it is still like the day I bought it. I know people that have had theirs for 2+ years and never had a problem. What model reel did you have?

The Supreme is not alot different from the President in my opinion (I own both), but I hear the '07 Summit will be.

I had the same problem after about a year of use.  It's at the bottom of a lake now (accident) and that will be the last Pfleuger I will ever buy.

I purchased two Presidents last Jan. and returned them for two Supremes. No problems with either, just decided I wanted the external magnetic adjustment on the Supreme. I believe the Supreme has one more bearing than the President, but that was not an issue for me. I prefer the external magnetic adjustment for fine tuning a reel, just personal preference. I do not like to disassemble a reel on the water to make any adjustments for conditions.

Both of these reels have been fished very hard this year without any problems of any kind. I would recommend them to anyone.........................Al

All my baitcasting reels are speleed D-A-I-W-A

A millionaire was the first one I owned back in  the late 70's and I loved it.  Every one I have bought since has been equally satisfying.

Like Uncle vito used to say "Ifa she no broke......no fix"  :)

I own both. I have no problems & I use them 3 or 4 days a week. I like the Supreme a little better because it's lighter & has the external spool control.
