Japanese packaging > Domestic Packaging.  it was stapled shut!!  then taped.

It’s casts really well.

Zillions are a blessing and a curse. Amazingly smooth, amazing casters, clicking drag. But it’s hard to go back to Tatulas and Curados after using them lol. I will say if you haven’t tried the Alphas SV, it is just as smooth, casts almost as well, and is a little cheaper which your wife might appreciate ? the Zillion just fits in hand so perfectly.

congrats on the new Zillion, I doubt it’ll be your only one ?

If you want another, I've got a barely used (have fished with it less than 10 times) one that I will sell. In excellent condition

oh I agree.    I have a brand new tatula sv still in the box.  Can’t bring myself to take it out since getting my first zillion sv.   Now I got the zillion hd as well.   What a reel!   I went up to steez level but more content with the zillions.  :)    I can’t bother to go back to my scorpion mgls, tatula svs and tatula elites.  LoL.

lucky the wife hasn’t googled up a zillion or steez yet.   ?

Enjoy!  I have one myself and like it a lot.  However its very different in feel when swapping between that one and the rest of my set.  The metanium and chronarch are quite similar to each other aside from size (70 vs 150).  The older Chronarch and my STXs are quite similar to each other and fairly similar to the bigger Chronarch in use (not smoothness, but things like size of the handles/grips).  The JDM Zillion though feels different.  The handle is a little shorter and the grips are a little smaller.  I think the grips are a little smoother in finish (maybe a touch more slippery) if my memory serves.  Also, casting the daiwa system vs a shimano SVS is a little different.  You'll see after you've been fishing both side by side for a while.  It takes a cast or two after swapping rods to be really dialed in again.  Either way though its an awesome reel so enjoy it.

These Zillions rip! All of mine are just as smooth as when I first got them. They are my main reels now, and my favorite all time reel so far. Congratulations.

Also my favorite reel on the GLX reel seat. Super comfortable .

Hmm, actually I find Bantam/Metanium a better fit for the GLX reel seat, but again I digress.  Zillion is great on performance and smoothness. I guess the "Hyper" design pays off, as it's one of the smoothest Daiwa reels I've tried. But I find myself less enthusiastic about its looks. It and the new Tatula, their looks are really not that impressing.

To each their own. For me the Zillion is better. Different hands/grip

Congrats on your reel! I also just opened up my Zillion box the other day, its much smaller than my other reels and not sure what its purpose will be yet.

What do you plan on using your Zillion for?

Yeah, the Zillion doesn't work for me on the GLX. Metanium is great on my 844. I have an Aldebaran on my 843 and it's amazing. Oddly enough I have Zillions on Exprides.

You have more details on how to sign up for text alerts and get that deal?
