SmokeRise1 Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 on your site? Now the cheapest reel is $74.99. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 1, 2010 Super User Posted December 1, 2010 Guess you mean baitcasters only. There is a $12 spinner there. And a $69 baitcaster. Maybe you're looking at the Tournament page. Quote
SmokeRise1 Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 Yes. I was only referring to baitcasters (low profile to be specific). What happened to the Solene and Inertia lines? Quote

Pinnacle1 Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 SmokeRise1: Thanks for your recent post at the Pinnacle forum. We are currently in the process of redesigning our Pinnaclefishing.com website. That being the case, a few of our baitcasters in the price range you mentioned (such as the Solene and Platinum Plus models) have yet to be posted. We are making updates to the site as we speak, and expect to have these models posted and available shortly. In the meantime, you can always purchase the Solene and other value-priced Pinnacle baitcaster offerings at Walmart or online at the Walmart website (www.walmart.com). Thank you for your patience during our site redesign. Good Fishing! Pinnacle1 Quote
ctf58 Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 My Walmart has not had any Platinum Plus in months and the only Solene does not feel right, also did not see any on the Walmart website. Quote
The Rooster Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 My Walmart has not had any Platinum Plus in months and the only Solene does not feel right, also did not see any on the Walmart website. Yep, that's about right for Walmart. Out of one and have been for a long time, only have one left of another and it is damaged. That's the way it is every time I go into the store. Quote
Stasher1 Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 The Platinum Plus and Solenes are in the clearance bin at my local WM, along with a couple Slyders. Quote
PondBoss Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 How much are they on clearance for? They are running like $50-$60 at my wal-mart here. Quote
Stasher1 Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 I think the Plat. plus is $30, Solene is $35 and if I remember correctly, the Slyder is sbout the same price. They also have a bunch of Shimano Sonora 2500 and 4000 reels for $35, Pflueger Trion GX-7 for $30, Pflueger Presidents for $40. I picked up a Trion just for the heck of it. This particular WM does kind of stuff on a fairly regular basis. A little over a year ago I picked up two Sonora 2500s and a Mitchell 308Xe for $15 each. Quote

I wish they had something like that going on here. The spinning reels are on on clearance, but no baitcasters. They are $52-$60 depending on which one you get. Quote
RAMBLER Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I bought a Solene at WM. That was the worst baitcasting reel I've ever had in my hands. I turned the tension knob (not the drag, I know the difference)down as tight as possible, turned the mag to it's max. I could still cast a weightless fluke over 40 feet. Back off any adjustment and it was almost impossible to thumb the spool enough to prevent over runs. I learned how to baitcast in the 50's on the old knuckle busters and would much rather have on of those old reels. I took it back and bought an Abu Garcia. That's a quality reel. Quote

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with our Solene reel. Good to know you were able to exchange it for something you like. Good fishing! Quote
