Nice browns there bud.  Looks like multiple days.  Guided or not?  What part of the White River?

Three days with Tim "hotdawg" Curtis. I caught 22 brown trout, my friends caught

mostly rainbows fishing for numbers. ghoti brought another retired professor, Steve,

with him from Illinois. Steve caught 74 the first day and 106 the next. Gary fished half

days with 40-50 each day.

Was this below Bull Shoals Dam, below Table Rock or below Beaver?

We launched at White Hole and fished approximately 5 miles upstream to 10 miles

downstream.

Looks like you and your friends had a great time @roadwarrior. I've been wanting to go up that way.

You can catch a lot of trout on your own, but you might need a guide to target the bigger

browns. Hotdawg has been chasing these fish for more than 35 years on the White and

has learned a thing or two bout catching them.

@roadwarrior, I looked him up right after reading your great trip report. You're 100% correct, "Hotdawg" does seem to know a thing or two, about a thing or two when it comes to trout fishing. His rates aren't bad either. Hopefully this fall or next spring we can get up there. I would love to own a place on the White River!

You need to pick a date and book it now. His loyal clientele book days permanently so

availability is limited especially during prime time.

Looks like a great time. I want to take my family down there sometime. I think they'd really enjoy it.

We have no interest in keeping them. I just enjoy chasing the big browns with jerkbaits down there.

Yeah I remember you don’t eat them, I just know you and the boys (and the wife) would slay em

I'm fortunate to be living within 5 minutes of that very area of the White River since 2012.  Before that, I go back to 1988 taking many trips there, and being guided by Tim Hot Dawg Curtis.  I do not use a guide any more, but I recommend him to people who ask.
