Super User Columbia Craw Posted July 16, 2023 Super User Posted July 16, 2023 Don’t leave your crankbait box or boxes on the deck. The baits expand and split. 5 1 1 Quote
BayouSlide Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 In my experience, Strike King crankbaits are especially likely to do so. 1 Quote
PBBrandon Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 Also don’t leave your Zman soft plastics in the car…I get reminded of that every summer 1 Quote

Super User Bird Posted July 16, 2023 Super User Posted July 16, 2023 Extreme heat offers many challenges but I'm getting tired of baby sitting Elaztech ?. 2 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 17, 2023 Global Moderator Posted July 17, 2023 Bring plenty of water. A gallon wasn't enough Saturday. Ran out of water 1/2 mile from the ramp. I was lightheaded and dizzy when I got to the ramp. Went straight to the nearest gas station after I loaded up and got a big bottle of water. 2 Quote
GRiver Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Yes it is hot…. I pulled my gear I keep in the truck…. I’ve already ruined bait. I think the heat is hard on mono too. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 17, 2023 Super User Posted July 17, 2023 If you are using JJ's, it needs to be in a cooler on ice this time of year. Quote
Skunkmaster-k Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Don’t leave the earthworms in the car. They stink. Bad. 2 Quote

If you wake up behind on your intake, it's hard if not impossible to catch up. Be careful man, getting dehydrated can be serious stuff. 29 minutes ago, Skunkmaster-k said: Don’t leave the earthworms in the car. They stink. Bad. Yeah, leave them sitting on the bank, along with the chicken livers. They smell great cooking in the sun. Thanks, guys. 1 hour ago, roadwarrior said: If you are using JJ's, it needs to be in a cooler on ice this time of year. Or you could end up being marinated in garlic when you open the jar. 2 Quote

My doctor says it's one the best things I can do to stay hydrated and in good shape. 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted July 17, 2023 Super User Posted July 17, 2023 Stay hydrated out there if you are going to fish in this heat. The heat dome currently over the southwest will be moving north/northeast next week. 1 Quote
