I'm looking at a 7'11 St.Croix LTG ive always been a Shimano guy and had the Zodias 7'6G but that ended up breaking thanks to a ceiling fan that i didn't want but the wife wanted.. ( needless to say its that fan is no longer up there ) So this next rod will either be one of the two. Only reason why im flirting on these two rods is because the Zodias has recently been updated and i know the rod will preform well versus Croix having 15 year warranty. I'm not really a Croix guy but im open to hear your opinions.

No experience with st. Croix glass as I prefer graphite. I own st croix rods on the lower end and was super impressed. I’m basically bumping the thread so you get a response from someone who knows ?

I've put hands on the Legend Tournament Glass rods at my local tackle shop (several times actually as they have caught my attention), and they are surprisingly lightweight and feel like they have a great action for crankbaits. Not sure how I feel about the thickness of them as they are relatively thick. My concern about that is that when it's windy, that can be a little irritating to me to have that wind resistance that comes with thicker rods. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to try one.

My kid has a 7’2 Mojo Glass M/M rod. I never used it but he loves the rod because of how far it can cast and he has no problem landing fish on crankbaits and jerkbaits. Probably not much help.

I have the 7'2'' Med Mod. Legend Glass and love it. It handles about 50% of my cranking but the 7'11'' is a beast of a rod. I have only held it and for most of the 1/2oz cranks I thought it was too heavy. I would guess that 3/4-1oz is the sweet spot for this rod.

I have the same rod as @FishTank and like this rod immensely.

Great blank, very-well made, and light for glass.

But you do feel the weight compared to graphite.

I'd be worried 7'11" faster-tip glass would be tip-heavy.  (My older Falcon Glass rods are 6' and 6-1/2').
