Super User Bird Posted July 12, 2023 Super User Posted July 12, 2023 Buddy of mine invited me to fish for Snakehead which I excepted. Not my thing but something different. They are UGLY and slimy but he claims they are delicious. Caught on hollow body frog in pads. 6 Quote

Super User ChrisD46 Posted July 13, 2023 Super User Posted July 13, 2023 Snake Heads are prehistoric invasive creatures - they rank right up there with Zebra Mussels with me ! Quote
Super User Bird Posted July 13, 2023 Author Super User Posted July 13, 2023 @ChrisD46 Consumed last evening...... fantastic. Yes, invasive and destructive to native fish from what I've read. Idk Quote
Seaworthy81 Posted July 18, 2023 Posted July 18, 2023 "Destructive to native fish" is still up for debate. Lots of conflicting data there. Seems like mostly a lot of panic and expected caution that has mostly turned out to not be that impactful. Down here in FL, the bass, peacocks and snakehead all seem to be getting along fine eating each other when the chance arises. They are a really fun gamefish, and people down here seem to like eating them, but I'm not particularly fond of eating anything out of our urban canals and golf course ponds. 2 Quote
