Daiwa 21 Zillion SV TW 1000P

I have the zillion p. I use it for crankbaits, now, actually. Nice slow gear ratio and the zillion has a propensity to cast crankbaits quite a ways.

Had a Zillion SV TW lasted almost a year then the brakes took a dump on me. Luckily bought a US version and was able to return it. Picked up a Shimano Aldebaran 50 MGL, smaller, lighter cast farther then the Zillion. I also had a Steez SV TW several years ago lock up on me beginning to question Daiwa’s reliability, although I still have another Steez, that seems to be OK.  
 

Also have the newer Bantam A which I find an improvement over the older Bantam MGL. It is a solid reel. The casting and reeling reminds me of the Antares A I used to have it just feels like a fine instrument. Only thing I don’t like how heavy it is.  

If you don’t mind the weight, Bantam > Zillion.

I swapped spools with my Steez SV TW and the Steez is better with the SV BOOST and the Zillion is way better with the 1016 ( or 1012 for lighter baits )  

 
i have 4 zillions and I don’t have the SV BOOST spool in any of them anymore 

 

it pretty much never backlashes

1016SVBoost is the 16-lb mono-capacity spool that comes with Zillion SVTW - the spring returning the SV inductor is tuned for casting heavier weights farther.  1016SV is the spool that came stock with Steez SVTW, and the SV spring is tuned for casting both lighter and heavy weights more reliably.  

Other Daiwa spools that fit 34-mm Steez/Zillion platform are 1012SV, which is shallower 12-lb mono capacity (you can hunt down a JDM model delivered stock with 1012).  1000SVBoost PE Special is the spool that comes stock with Zillion Silver Wolf - it has 8-lb mono capacity and is a better choice for fishing light braid (PE#1.2 and thinner).  

There's a whole range of aftermarket spools for Steez/Zillion 34-mm platform.  Roro-X on the right is the lightest of these, for casting 1/16 oz on PE#1 threadline braid.

 I just bought the Zillion 21 SVTW from the jdm. It was a great price. If I want a deeper spool I could swap it out for the Daiwa MAG-Z Boost 1000 G1 spool? Sorry,  I'm just making sure I don't buy the wrong thing.  I do a lot of bank fishing. So I like my distance.

I think I'm just over thinking it. Lol I haven't even take it out yet but I think i will invest 1016.

You should definitely try the 1016 stock spool - w/ 12-lb mono/fluoro, it will routinely cast 1/8 oz 85 to 90', which is plenty to fish.  

If you want supreme distance, Ray's Studio honeycomb SV spool gives you similar lure weight range, capacity for 6-lb mono and, better, fishes PE#1.2 braid, which is 25-lb breaking strength in Japan X-braid.  

I had to thumb to keep 1/8-oz casts out of my buddies across the tide pass, and from this side of the pass, I could fish the same broken grass where far-away Tony is fishing below.
