Watermelon juice in 8oz glass, 1/2 lime worth of juice, salted rim or just in the drink. Ice cold. Best sports drink ever!

I had a few glasses of this style of "watermelon" last night. Kentucky straight watermelon.

i am 50/50 on choosing a watermelon this year.  my lastest one tasted like a cucumber.  the one before was wet and sweet.

i never grow watermelon.  not enough garden space.

 

but how i choose a watermelon.

 

i look for heavy for it's size.

and i look for a big spot where it sat on the ground.  i think bigger means it was on the vine longer.  

 

my dad looked for bug scratches.  hahah..and i see people thumping them.

I go out back to the garbage bins and pick out the melons that they toss out but are still good.
