Just picked up a couple of these, do you tie directly to the split ring or would you use a snap to connect to the split ring? When I fish poppers I use a snap to connect to the split ring, but this isn't quite a popper, looking to see what type of connection setup other anglers use. Thanks.

Either is fine, but not both.  It could increase fowling.

For the most part I replace all split rings with snaps. I never use both but I also don't prefer tying to split rings ever since I had one cut me off.

I remove the split ring and use a snap directly to the showerblows.

Sounds like the way to go , thanks.
