so, i just experimented with senkos this weekend and i am very impressed. i was using the purple with emerald flakes in clear water and brackish water. i just went to the store and picked up some watermelon/ black and red flakes. all 5". my question is: when the bait hits the water, should it fall on slack line or taunt line? my girlfriend caught the first fish on the senko (of course when I was launching the boat... women, lol) and i told her to let it fall slack, and watch the line for twitches. it twitched on the way down, hit the bottom, and she started reeling very slowly, then BAM! a 3 pounder picked it up and started running! anyways, any tips woudl help. im going back this weekend to the same lakes.

thanks! thats what i thought! my dad was the one who, once he caught his first fish on a senko, was the "senko expert" who said to let it fall on a slack line...

I have caught bass with this bait in practically every way with practically every rig and I have only been useing them a short time. I would read the senko FAQ though it has a lot of info on the different ways to use this bait.

Simon Says you wrote: Slack line, with slack line the senko will fall vertically with it's nice little wiggle all the way down, a taunt line kinda ruins the action

You either don't know what vertically means, or you don't know how a Senko works.  Vertically is defined as " being in a position or direction perpendicular to the plane of the horizon; upright; plumb."

A senko falls horizontally, which is part of the beauty of the lure.  Because of it's density and aerodynamics  the thing casts like an f14 fighter jet.  It's little wiggle on the way down is super sweet like you said.

I've literally jumped in the water after a Senko, mouth first,  just cause it looked so good to eat.

I'm almost scared to see what will happen the first time I use a fat IKA!
