Super User Mobasser Posted June 29, 2023 Super User Posted June 29, 2023 My dad and brother were both military veterans. Even though we have certain days set aside for our veterans, it's still important to thank them whenever you can. If you see a man in uniform, or you know someone who is a veteran, give them a quick nod and tell them thank you. Regardless of what branch of the military they served in, or what they're job was, it's important to tell them thank you. They deserve this, and will always appreciate it. 8 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted June 29, 2023 Super User Posted June 29, 2023 Seems the latest USA total population numbers are currently estimated at just over 336,878,000. As of May 2023, there are approximately 1.4 million active-duty personnel in the US Military. So about 000,000,000.4% of the total US population is serving as active-duty personnel. Roughly the same number of folks living in San Antonio Texas. So few serving for so many. A-Jay 4 Quote
padlin Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Just under 5% are vets. 1 out of 20, more then I would have guessed. Quote

Almost every Man from my Dad's generation served, most via the draft. My Dad was lucky, he was drafted and served after Korea but before Vietnam. I truly appreciate everyone who has served. Even more for those who serve, or have served as volunteers instead of being drafted. 1 Quote
